FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

I made chicken stew and ground turkey with beans. Also had some left over Jollof with lamb.

Who does Taco Bell think they are?
Serving a chicken sandwich on flat bread
Feel bad for the chickens that had to die for this

Yea, you turn around for a few days and you got a few dozen of those things.

What do you plan on doing with them?

If there are too many, you can dry them and "blend" them into Thai Crushed Red Pepper Flakes.

Wanted to try to make my own Frank’s hot sauce but not sure if I’m gonna

I’ll just slice them up while I’m eating
These are supposed to be cayennes they didn’t end up being that long for some reason  now that you say they do look like Thai 🤔
I don’t really like the flavor of Thai chilis so I gotta see now

Cake has one of the worst calories:enjoyment ratios out of any food TO ME.

I like carrot cake here and there, but that's maybe once every 2 years.

Thoughts?

Depends on the age of the kids, how many people are at the party and a few other things.

That said, if I'm going to generalize based on the birthday parties I've thrown, buying an expensive cake from a nice bakery for a kids birthday party is a waste. But a cheaper cake from Costco or the supermarket is not.

This reminds me of one of my birthdays when I was a kid. I explicitly told my mom that I don't like cake (she already knew that) and to not bother making or buying me one.

We finished up with dinner that night and I get ready to go back to my room when my mom tells me to stay put because she has a surprise for me.

Pulls a cake out and tells me "I know you said you didn't want one, but you have to try this one!"

I tell her I don't want a piece and that I explicitly told her not to do that.

She melts down, starts crying, pointing her finger in my face, and telling me how ungrateful I am. I walk out and go ride my bike over to my friend's house and spend the remainder of the night there. :smh:

^^^ My son doesn't like cake either. There were a couple of occasions when my wife wanted to get one anyway for his birthday celebration (mainly for herself) and I talked her out of it. We went with a giant chocolate chip cookie or donuts instead, both of which my son likes.

Edit - to clear up any apparent inconsistency between this post and my other post about cake at parties; my son did not announe his aversion to cake until he was around 10.
