FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Italian again tonight. My little nephew graduated 3-K yesterday so we took him out to celebrate. Maggiano's in Garden City, NY. Loved it all the food was so exceptionally good & the service was excellent.

We did the family deal- 3 appetizers, 4 entrées & mini mixed desserts. Caesar salad, zucchini sticks, mozzarella marinara, Bruschetta, mushroom ravioli & cheese ravioli.

Trying out my new gas grill. Went to the butcher and got 5 thick pork steaks - for less than the price of one ribeye. Sous vide and then on the searing station for about a minute each side - really good.

Couldn’t decide what else to get so I went to the discount food place and just bought a pile of stuff.

Pretty happy for the first use - much better than my old one.

Also super pleased with myself this afternoon. I bought a fancy bean to cup coffee machine for my office in January and it was so good that I bought another one for home. Recently the coffee at home has been lousy and I noticed that rather than coming out of the nozzles it was just sort of spurting out every gap on the front of the machine.

I managed to take it apart and found that the little hose that goes from the brewing unit to the outlet nozzle had slipped off - so it was just squirting coffee into the inside of the front of the machine. It took a while to dismantle that part (found an hour long video in German of a guy taking it apart which helped) but it’s now all back together with a cable tie holding the hose on.

And I’m sitting here enjoying good coffee at home again.
