its a joke man, give it time all retros will be that maybe even more like 200 in a couple years.... next years are already at 170.

Guarantee by 2015, retro J's will be $200 easily. Price keeps rising, but the quality is still in a stalemate.

Has anyone ever heard of inflation?

Notice how EVERYTHING keeps getting more expensive?

For real NT needs to take an economics class lol and y'all don't this Nike sees all these resellers making chees off there products? Might as well cut into that a little, especially when so many cats are willing to pay over retail to snag some sneakers...

This is a bullsht excuse on behalf of Nike

How is it that in 1999 the OG Jordan 14's retail at $150 and last year the retros only went up $10

How is that in 2006 the Jordan 4's went for $115 and now it's $160
that's a good point.

Jordan Brand knows that they cant sell the XIV's for as much as the IV's, III's, VI's etc... I believe it is part inflation, part a greed and $ thing, and part a wanting to get ahead of the resellers thing. They know people are re-selling them for nearly double retail, so if people are willing to pay, why would JB want re-sellers to get paid instead of them. Heck look at the KDs, he said he would never go over 100, the VIs are 135.

And a side note, Nike and Jordan Brand are 2 separate companies, JB does their own thing and makes their own prices, they basically do their own thing while still being under the Nike nametag.

Price is set by nike by demand now, not because of the materials used.
While the aj8 2013 retros cost 160 euros here, they also cost 160 in 2007 and 2003. And even the ogs retailed equivalent at around 150 - 160 euros in germany, so including the inflation the 8s are even cheaper at retail now than in the past.
But the ridiculous price hikes for aj 3, 4, 5 and 11 are simply set by demand.
The aj 13 cost 170 now and considering the inflation of the past 10 years they are not more expensive than in 1998.
Most crazy things is that the aj 10 retros from 2005 only retailed at 125 euros, while most other retros were around 150-160, except for the 1, 2, 3 and 4 retros.
The first insane price hike was with the 2009 space jams at 170 euros (135 for all aj mids in 2000/2001).

In the UK the 2007 Playoff VIIIs were £85 ...the 2013 release is £135

That's not inflation, that's greed pure and simple.

There's no rhyme or reason with Nike's prices, there never has been. They just make them up according to hype/demand and what they predict they can get away with.

Yes, inflation occurs but this does not follow the inflation rate. Nike knows it will sell regardless so they are taking advantage of it, ie why the retro 13 selling for $170 when they were originally $150 upon the initial release while the latest iteration of the retro 11 were $185 when they sold for ~$120 upon the original launch.

these would not come with laces lol

hope it doesn't end up looking like a GS cw

Your point doesn't follow the other guys logic. Inflation and raising prices based on demand are 2 different things

Nike is doing the latter and trolling you with the hit and miss quality at the same time

Will cop because that was my nickname freshman year. (had a high top fade)

I recall them days everybody seem like a extension of "Kid'N'Play" ..

The irony is , that hair style is back in full effect, guess its true, everything at one time or another comes full circle..
