From a New Yorker, it's time I tip my hat to the West Coast.

Born and raised out here, people can't drive in the rain out here, not just because of tire treads but also because they're not used to it.

LA basin (excluding the mountains) is generally soft when it comes to weather. I'm glad we are, it means we don't deal with bad weather often

And this is a Californian saying that....THANK YOU!

This dude Ryda...

How does any of that pertain to this thread?...you are the one coming in here trying to call me out on something that has nothing to do with this thread at all for the sake of saving face for how stupid you looked at first...now you want to talk about landslides, what's next earthquakes?...fog?...sea levels?...I mean fam, you are struggling trying to prove I don't know what, let it go....I didn't make this thread to say one city is better than the other, simply to say how at this stage in my life the west coast as a whole seems more appealing to me, NOT once in this thread did I make myself out to be an expert, it's damb obvious I don't know much about Cali, I've never been there and the things I've spoken on in past threads are things west coasters themselves have confirmed....once again...WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR POINT FAM?...and what does it have to do with the content of this thread?...geeez

like i stated before, i responded that way because FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN, you are an NY cat until you die. no way in hell, you would praise the west coast. it just seemed odd. but it is what it is. i hope you make it out here. then you can tell your east coast peeps that's it's really nice out here.

Oh so now you hope I make it out there...ok fam, thanks and sure will :rollin

not trying to get too into it but LA basin =/= the mountains.

the mountains, high deserts, low deserts, valleys, and beaches all have different weather. from what i have noticed it's a lot of foreign drivers who are getting into accidents because they think they own the road. i know it's a generalization, but it's from what i have seen throughout my whole life living here.

Never encountered an individual from NYC trying to switch to the other side, sad day. Time to burn down J Crew.

There are MANY NYC transplants in SF (makes sense because SF is basically a small NYC)

Try saying that to NYCers. I work with a goof couple of them and they would all not agree......just from the sandwiches we have here alone. I love SF but we are just really our own city. I've been to NYC once and it didn't feel like SF at all.

i know a few ppl who have gone to alaska.......not really interested besides seein the northern lights

but yea seattle id check out

i needa see colorado also.

That's what I'm talking about fam!...so much to see on that side of the country, Aspen, the northern lights, Seattle, Vegas, Mexico, Hawaii....all these places are so different...everything on this side seems like the same thing, climate ad everything, except if you go south....then you get a change of climate.

def wanna explore the other part of this country. and if i can take my girl, id live in san fran man, that city looks so interesting.

explain what you mean by that fong. I just want to see your perspective as a SF'er that visited NYC as opposed to me, an NYC'er who visited SF.

I meant more like how SF is more of a traditional city like NYC (compared to suburban sprawls like LA). Old school houses, lots of mom and pop stores, lots of hole in the wall food spots that are actually pretty good, good public transportation (except ours ends early as hell :{), etc...I don't know, NYC is the only major American city I've been to outside of Cali (besides Vegas), so that's probably why my comparison might be off, but compared to everywhere else I've been NYC felt the most similar to home

Are you guys really trying to base which spot cracks more by the club scenes?

SoCal trumps all because you can drive out to Riverside, and then somehow end up 8 beers deep in Tijuana with no ID at 4 in the morning as a minor.  Or you could decide to visit some family in the desert, and end up in the middle of a late night dirt bike session.  Or you could be kicking it on the beach at 1 in the morning smoking a joint while getting some neck in the sand.  And the clubs do crack, because once the club closes it's either their spot or yours; and they might just be some French girls that are staying in their cousins mansion while they're in town.  If your charismatic and not afraid to meet new people and go balls out Socal is the lick.

And for the record LA living expense is nothing compared to NYC, and majority of the females in ATL aren't from the ATL.  A lot are from LA, NY, and MIA, because it's a spot where you can live it up ball out without really having it like that.  Plus it's a gang of decent jobs and companies that have their HQ in the ATL.

Meh LA's not that great unless you're a playboy attending masquerade parties and MTV pool parties and bagging girls every week in Hollywood and taking them to your mansion in the Hollywood Hills.  <---Not me

Well I remember in another thread Californians talk about how they drive no faster than 20mph in a light drizzle....lets be serious here, that thread was about a light snow that didn't even amount to an inch on the floor, what kind of weak terrain do you speak off talkin about it causing landslides?...son just stop...what are you trying to prove?...you have a problem with me or my opinion keep it moving...you looking silly with the constant bickering.
I see dude is from LA, I lived in LA for three years and honestly I don't remember EVER driving in the rain so I guess I can't call it.

People in the Bay have zero problems driving in the rain though.

My director just came back from Seattle and she said it was a blast.

First thing I asked was did she catch a fish...said no but there were plenty of people out there catching them left and right.
