FX's ATLANTA (Starring Donald Glover) S4 Final episode

That first episode reminds me a bit of A Serious Man. The beginning of that film starts with a small story that isn’t related to the rest of the film but is connected at least thematically. The foster parents bit was an allegory for America. The foster parents are America and the Black kids represent Black people in America. They do farm work (slavery), get told what’s best for them, have to deal with subtle racism (poorly fried chicken), are under the thumb of white liberals/white lgbtq. At least that’s how I interpreted it.

You need to break it down for me.

I understood the black communities buried under water. I could understand the social commentary but the meme part?

I watched the last episode of season 2 then the first episode of s3 and its nice to see the polar opposites continuity in education track between Lottie and Loquarrious

Damn b, we aint even get to the 4th season
I was so eager to see PaperBoi rise to fame I was disappointed with the 1st episode but he a Gucci-wearing, money-throwing rapper now so I guess he made it.

Ain't the microwave chicken, a reference to Flavor of Love??

I think Darius loyal and weird enough to be in that room just vibing

From the trailer it looked like they would go more towards the artsy fartsy route. :nerd:
When I saw two episodes already out I figured one would be completely unrelated to what was going on in the story arc. >D
Hoping it gets better.
That barber episode from last season still makes me

But seriously though, going from the end of season 1 with Earn literally homeless and sleeping in storage units to this season with him doing the damn thing as Paper Boi’s manager. I like that they kept ish grounded and didn’t make it seem like they became rich over that long break.

As somebody else said, that switch from Paper Boi to Phatos then back to Paper Boi is amazing acting to me. He really can play a character on opposite sides with ease.

Darius the same weirdo/high dude but I’m guessing they gon have an episode to fill out the gaps for everybody else to how they got where they at now

. didn’t make it seem like they became rich over that long break.
They kinda did tho, granted Season 2 didn't make it that imperative that they need to "make it" Earn saying they've performed overseas and giving Darius a whole day car service feel like that. As well as Al asking Earn for 300 wings @ 4AM

There were a couple other stories like that one as well. With more black kids growing up with white kids.. you’re seeing them “act out” more for their attention.. to the point where this is now a workplace stereotype. Literally HR will hire you to do exactly what Larry did in his classroom for your supervisor.

It’s real. Hopefully nobody else with the Atlanta Hawks is on here but they legit want employees to party and dance after games to perpetuate the stereotype that Atlanta is a party party city. Most of us have primary careers and burnt out coming to games but they try to make us acknowledge these lame Atlanta stereotypes that outsiders of the area believe in. Locals don’t even go out like that.

You don’t know the half of it.. They want you to come through their doors hitting the soul train line to your desk

I don't know that first ep wasn't it for me. I get what they were going for but it was a miss for me. Did enjoy the 2nd episode though, so much crazy ish happening throughout. That cult scene reminded me of Midsommar when they were doing that death ritual and you're just like "wtf just happened".

Rich white men talking about ******* black ghosts :smh:

Them white Brits definitely be on that intense white guilt steez. Darius could've spoke up more but MK did sound crazy talking about black men hit on her a lot. The way Socks twisted that whole interaction.

Nando not wanting to pay up :lol

Earn joining the scammer was funny.

Another great ep.
