A $80 to $120 watch isn't hardly expensive for a timepiece.

Step your expense game up.

You got ripped off on those Movados and then you insult G-Shocks?
A G-Shock will outlast your Movado by decades.
I'm not one to tell people what they spend their money on but $1,200 on a Movado is not worth it.

Um.....i don't know where you learned that, but real timepieces > any digital watch. SMH at dudes spending up to a hundred for these pathetic digital watches that can be copped at walmart for $30 max. Get outta here with that.

No, your right. I know nothign about watches so I apologize. Movado is a REAL timepiece. I mean they make all their movement in-house and their automatics arereal accurate, much more accurate than the measley quartz movement G-Shocks have. Unless, for some crazy reason, Movado uses a quartz movement ont heir watchestoo, the same movement G-Shock utilizes for around 90% cheaper. In that measley $80-$100 watch, you get a tough, reliable timekeeper, but also Solar,Stop-Watch, Atomic Timing, etc... but then again, I have no idea what I am talking about. And I 'm sure $1,200 for a Movado, that could probably would havebeen purchased for $300-$350 is a great bargain.

But all sarcasms aside, Movado makes decent watches but talking trash about G-Shocks and praising Movado and considering them as a real timepiece as if G-Shockisn't is just ridiculous. Movado is probably the most discounted, supposedly high end, watch out there and that should tell you something. Movado is apioneer and has been around for a long time with a classic Museum face but they are no way far better than a G-Shock. I rather wear a Seiko or Citizen watchthat ranges for $200-$300 than wear a Movado. Not saying I do not like any Movado, I like their new 800 series watches but will not pay retail or any less than50% off retail for it.

My son went in. If I were to spend over a grand on a watch, I'd just save up more for a Breitling.

My good sir A Movado is a classic timepiece, that will always be in style and will outlast a gshock. Where as a Gshock is a Gshock and will onlybe popular for like a year more. If oyu are at a dinner party people will say hey nice Movado and than you can begin to talk about other fine aspects of lifesuch as maybe traveling, stocks, whatever. If you're at a party with a Gshock the convo goes so what is your favrite N.E.R.D albulm. Get the point

I bet that sounded real good in your head when you typed it. I've seen RFX45's watch collection, and I know for sure that it takesdookies on nearly anyone on NTs. I'm pretty sure he's saying that Movados are nice, but hardly "classic timepieces."

That wasn't even the point. Of course if you go to a black tie event you won't wear a G-Shock. That's is like comapring Reebok and Rockport. Ofcourse you will opt out for the Rockport with a suit but that doesn't mean it is of better quality than the Reebok, Rockport is just what is appropriate. If you went to a keg party and had a G-Shock and Movado, woudl your really choose the Movado when wearing a regular white tee and jeans? Would you really wearthat Movado with the Reebok shoes if you go running? I highly doubt it. Get the point?

G-Shock's has been around for a while now too and just because it is more mainstream now doesn't mean it will disappear in a year or two. Sure Movadohas been around a lot longer but it still does not comapre to Omega, Rolex, IWC or Breitling, not even close. Plus speaking of hype, if you really think aboutit, Movado is more hyped than G-Shocks, it just so happens that G-Shocks are the in thing with young people at the moment because of its affordability. G-Shockis the number one choice for outdoor sports for more than a decade now. Even used int he army, Navy, Marines, etc...

Think about it, Movado is one of the most reknown watch brands in the world (Rolex the most famous) but their quality isn't top-notch (not even close),their design are classic but some define it as outdated and the general public views it as a high end watch when in reality, it is not. Most of their watchesuses Quartz and like I said before, most likely not much different the G-Shock watches use. G-Shock probably uses a more sophisticated quartz movement ont heiranalog watches as it has more functions.

I can go on and on but I'll just stop there as people gets tired of reading when they see several pragraphs of reply.

G-Shock is for kids. Fad will die down just like years ago... but hang on to the ones you have because they'll be hot again when no one likes them (again)

Not all G-Shocks has rubber strap, my MTG has a metal band.
Tag Heuers uses a rubber bands. Cartier uses rubber bands. Zenith uses rubber bands. Hublot uses rubber bands.
I don't see anything wrong with it.

Wait, my point was that how can you dare compare some Casio with a friggin Movado, and no it doesn't even have to be a $1.2k Movado at that. Ihave a $700 Movado Juro and i have friends rocking Movados from the $300-400 range with the same type of appreciation for their pieces. Fact is Movado >Casio. I can't believe dudes actually trying to stick up for some digital crap, Casio watches are a joke.

Anyone know some G-shocks that can count calories, distance, etc? My friend told me about one for somewhere around $250, but I don't know the model oranything else about it. I want to use it to track my miles when I run, and I'd rather get the watch than buy a new nano and some nike+.
