Anyways, 2 nights/3 days mainly cuz me and my boys really can't afford being there for too long. We ain't on that middle age swag that you're on

CP?

hahaha me and my boys are in our 30's and the majority of us are still dirt poor and slum it (some worse than others).  No middle aged swag here.  Honestly, I usually only gamble about $1,000 per weekend, and give myself a $500 stop loss cutoff per day.  *Knock on wood* but I've never had a back to back $500 loss day, so I havent gone completely busto before Saturday yet.  If I had a particularly rough Thurs/Fri of gambling, I will usually ease up and just kick it in the sportsbook or play some low limit poker to slow burn and kill time.
laugh.gif
CP is an old-%#@ regular in the S+T forum here, probably around your age.
My first time in Vegas, was when me and probably  3 other dudes just turned 21; plus we brought our own crews. We were rolling like 15 deep, some of us brought maybe 500 bucks total each, some less
eek.gif
30t6p3b.gif
Poor as hell college students basically some of them didn't even belong in Nevada, held us back big time
laugh.gif
The last time I went, I only went with 3 other dudes and it was way better cuz we all were a lil smarter and had a deeper budget and didn't have to accommodated the other stragglers that weren't as prepared as us
laugh.gif

How much total do you look to spend? 1000 gambling, what about other expenses?

500 for 2 nights was pushing it but doable, we just cut out clubbing
ohwell.gif
But night 1 we had a guys night and did our own thing like gambling and such. Night/Day 2 we just wandered around drunk all morning and night on the strip and tried to gamble and hit up all different bars on the strip
30t6p3b.gif
last time I upped it to 1000 total (not including gas, hotel) for 2nights/3days and that was fine
pimp.gif
but I still managed to gamble/spend most of it away
frown.gif
Trick for me was to start drinking in the morning so that I pass out in the afternoon and get fresh for the night around 6 or 7 saved alot of money that way while the rest of the guys were out gambling
laugh.gif

For me, it depends on trip to trip.

Boys trips - One of my buddys I usually go with gambles a bit more than me (and it doesnt hurt that his brother in laws players card is linked to his, and his brother in law plays much higher limits than us).  When I roll with him, there's a very good chance that we have access to comped rooms at the Harrahs family of casinos (Harrahs, Caesars, Rio, etc...).  When I'm with the boys, its usually a down and dirty gambling trip where we just grab cheap eats on the run, start drinking in the room right when we wake up (supplemented by the "free" drinks while gambling).  As we've gotten older, and some of us are married now, the clubbing has become less and less of a priority so that is a good chunk of change saved there.  I'd say on average, ill roll with $1,200 cash.  $200 to cover incidentals like tips, cab fares, cigarettes, whatever.  Food costs are usually pretty cheap like $50 a day (if we just grabbing quit eats) so thats another $150-200 total.  I'd say on average $1,000-1,500 per trip is a good estimate cause I (again... knock on wood) its been YEARS since I last went complete busto and dropped $1,000 at the tables.  Obviously there are the very very very few trips where I will actually come up enough to cover my costs, or even better.. actually leave the city with more money than I came in with.

Trip with the wife - I actually end up gambling less but spending more, but thats expected.  My wife doesnt really shop that much, but we tend to spend a lot of money on food.  We will try to get atleast 1, if not 2 good dinners in which can set me back $250-400/dinner easy for the two of us.  Spa + massage will also set me back a few hundy (although a nice sit in the steamroom and a massage after a hard night of drinking is well worth it).  Its a lot more "old people shizzz" when I'm with the wife, but I dont mind that.

I actually try to have a similar plan/itinerary as you.  The biggest moneypits for me are day gambling (noon-5pm) and late night gambling when they roll out the Asian women coolers (4am-sun up).  I try to avoid day gambling if I can by just cruisin around people watching and/or getting drunk.  Getting drunk in the morning (assuming I'm awake that early) and taking a nap in the afternoon is a perfect way to kill time.

we tried it at Paris w/ a $50 and it was a failure.  We were there on a slower weekend and they tried to tell my boy (who is a Total Rewards Diamond level member) that they didnt have any room upgrades available.  Dude then says that he will hit us up if anything opens up later.  The next day, the guy calls our room to tell us that he was able to find us something.  He can "hook us up" and bump us to a nice suite for $150/nt.  Either this dude was tryin to squeeze some extra bucks out of us, or he didnt understand how the $20 (or $50) trick works.

Note to OP.  Never stay or even visit Paris.  That hotel and casino is such trash.  Man I get depressed just walking through there.  Not good lookin chicks, really drab atmosphere, and even all the restaurants in the hotel suck balls.

Have got to try this. I go multiple times a year myself, and always find myself gambling my money away during these hours or driving to Raising Canes.

Just came back from vegas for spring break, let me tell you it was the best weekend everrr.

thursday night- club at tao since we stayed at the venetian
friday - walked around the strip, gamble at different casinos, end the night at tao
saturday - buffet at the wynn, gamble some more, spearmint rhinos is where it's at, went to lavo to found out it was wackkk, so we head over to XS.
If you're into clubbing then XS is where you need to be.

just got back from my first time in vegas today. stayed at mgm grand and got wasted everynight and stayed out until 5 am every day/night. make sure u buy a bottle and do at least 10 shots before you go out. trust me. we saved a ton of money (except for when we did bottle service at Pure). the seafood buffet at Rio was the best buffet i had ever been to. they had everything.

also, i saw vinny chase on my flight, no one knew who he was so i said what up and got a picture.

Yea its a hit or miss. Depends on the person. Went to TI and it worked sorta. Reupped to a bigger room, suite-+*+. Not really. Just a name change and bigger space. Plus free coupons and champagne. Girl knew what we were doing. She just told us to act tired lol.

TI is buns btw. But I guess these tricks work on older hotels more often.

Everytime I go to Vegas I always hit up Tao, Pure, LAX and the ghostbar.

I dont ever remember being sober and being in Vegas.

usual trip consists of
(we usually leave SD and drive to LV on Thursday night)

Thursday night: Check in at the hotel, random bar, gamble, late night snack at a McDonald's while walking with a tall boy.
Friday: Sleep in until about lunch time, hit up Green Valley Ranch buffet
pimp.gif
, go back to the hotel gamble or take a nap, dinner at Firefly another Tapas bar, clubbing (TAO, Pure, LAX or the ghost bar)
Saturday: Sleep in then lunch at the Bellagio buffet, walk the strip, spearmint rhino, gamble, change and go out to the clubs.
Sunday: Check out of the hotel, Aloha hawaiian grill (best recovery food in Vegas IMO.) Drive home.

i hope you're not staying at the vdarra hotel in the city center.

some of my friends stayed there recently, and within a few hours of them checking in, their room got broken into and all of their belongings were stolen. they went and complained to hotel staff and they were treated like they were the ones in the wrong. not only did vdarra not do a damn thing to help them, they also charged them for the room.

we went on their FB page and posted complaints, they then hid ALL of the wall posts from others.

Yeah, nothing fancy.  good thing is, it's set right in the middle of the Strip and that's the important thing.

and for those of you who don't mind venturing off Strip, you'll find a PLETHORA of places to eat on the low.
