Report says remastered Batman: Arkham anthology for consoles goes on sale tomorrow

Arkham Asylum and Arkham City get a makeover for PS4, Xbox One

Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City will be remastered and updated for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in an anthology launching in June, according to marketing materials leaked to Eurogamer.

Batman: Return to Arkham will include both games plus all their downloadable content, according to the listing a GameStop employee sent Eurogamer. Pre-orders begin tomorrow.

Batman: Arkham Asylum launched in 2009 and Batman: Arkham City released in 2011. Both games were developed by Rocksteady Studios.

The new anthology does not include 2013's Batman: Arkham Origins, developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal, or last year's Batman: Arkham Knight.

Always had a feeling they would remaster the games but its wack that Arkham Origins won't be included >D

Team Galag Brought A Batmobile To Gumball 3000 Rally

This one-of-a-kind vehicle was built by Caresto, a Swedish manufacturer of concept and project cars, specifically for the 2016 edition of Gumball 3000. According to the company, it was designed after the Batmobile from the Arkham Knight game, but modified and manufactured “with drivability and full functionality in mind”.

Riding on a gargantuan 3,400mm (133.9 in) wheelbase that’s longer than what you get on the latest Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (3,365mm / 132.5 in) and with a massive 2,500mm (98.4 in) width, Caresto’s Batmobile is a sight to behold.

It’s also fascinating to hear as this behemoth is powered by a Lamborghini Gallardo-sourced 5.2-liter V10 pumping out 560 horses that’s connected to a paddle-shift gearbox and positioned behind the passenger compartment on a custom-made tubular frame. It rides on massive 26-inch wheels with ABS supported 8-pot Brembo calipers in front and 6-pot in rear connected to big brake discs providing stopping power.

The car’s body that’s riddled in intricate details is made completely out of carbon fiber, with the material extending inside where the driver and passenger get all the basic amenities such as a sound system and air-conditioning.

Seen that just now on the PlayStation stream and idk how I feel about it

Is it supposed to be a new entry or is it the arkham knight in VR? :nerd:

I'm more curious about the gameplay, doubt it's gon' get me to pay $400 for the VR though unless it just blows my mind away.

Possible plot/spoiler about the VR:

According to ComicBook.com, the website had an opportunity to play a demo of the upcoming Batman: Arkham VR, and it kicks off with the death of a beloved member of the Bat Family. The game starts off with Bruce Wayne entering Wayne Mansion with Alfred giving you the key to a piano, which then opens up the floor, taking you down into the Batcave. Once inside, you are able to explore every inch of the Batcave. After that, you're able to put on the Batsuit one piece of equipment at a time, such as the grappling hook, your cowl, the crime scene recreator, the environmental scanner, and of course, your batarangs. It all sounds pretty amazing, but now is the time when your heart breaks.

The site goes on to reveal that the game swiftly begins the stoyline when Alfred gives you a call, relaying the worst possible news... Nightwing is dead. The young hero is found dead in a dark alley, and through the use of your detective skills and gadgets, it's revealed that the mysterious killer beat the young hero to death with his bare hands, eventually snapping his neck. After visually recreating the death of one of DC's greatest heroes, a handprint is found belonging to a known associate of the Penguin. The demo ends with you summoning the Batwing and grappling away.

During an interview at E3, Rocksteady confirmed that the new installment is very much tied in to the Arkham Universe, but it's placement in the timeline remains a mystery. It's possible that the game takes place before the events of Batman: Arkham Knight, where Nightwing was seen alive and well. It's just as possible that the game takes place after Arkham Knight, and the greatest sidekick in comic book history has met his end.
