So my friend was moving out and let me have a pair of his in-wall Klipsch Synergy SCR-2 speakers. Would you guys recommend me keeping these or just selling them on Craigslist or something. Would you consider these decent speakers. It seems like they are going to end up costing me a lot of money to get an AVR and sub. What is your guys' advice on my situation?

Looking into getting the Polk Monitor 70s. Is an Onkyo HT-RC160 enough to drive them (80 watts per channel)?

Currently running Paradigm Cinema 90's now, which are supposed to be one of the better HTIB, but it's lacking the fullness of a floorstanding speaker.

You'll need to sacrifice

what's more important music or movies?

It's for the bedroom so I need something that can save some space and will be better than the stock TV speakers. The first one can be connected to Bluray or Cable/Satellite box directly right?

I am pissed off. My Panny 50g10 got the panasonic blinking light of death this morning

Thank God it's still under warranty

Panasonic's viera concierge service is amazing though! They went out of their way to ease my pain. a technician will be here next Wed to take care off everything. Thank God for my 50g20!

Here's something you should know it you get the panasonic blinking light of death, count the flashes. Google panasonic blinking light of death + the amount of flashes. Than make sure it's covered  and what is covered under warranty (if you're still under warranty).

Don't buy extended warranty from anyone but squaretrade.com

nice. you work at an electronic store?
I wouldn't say 120 hz is a gimmick, so to say, as much as an introduction for 240 and 3D TV's.

he's right to a certain extent. I don't use by 120 feature on my LCD ever and I have no issues.  Plasma vs LCD/ED argument is apples and oranges. It's really up to the viewer. They all have their issues...you just gotta go with what looks best to you.

bored and feel like talkin home theater, but i just saw avatar on blu-ray on my 50" panasonic 700u and i can honestly say it crapped on the 50" LG thats about 2-3 years newer (09 model) that i have in my basement. that TV is a beast and i honestly feel that at times it looks significantly better than the samsung pn50c550 i have in my bedroom (a 2010 samsung model) all the TVs are 1080p btw.

also, the pn50c550 has to be one of the WORST TVs with image retention (no burn in though.) i have never noticed it even once on the LG or panasonic, but the samsung is absolutely horrible with image retention. i hope its just that it needs more time to break in but at this point with ab 200 hours of viewing i really doubt thats the problem.

Just a heads up to anyone looking for a cheapie HDTV. I was looking for a mid to lower tier set for my kitchen so I can watch while I cook, and came across a decent buy.

I just picked up a 40" 120Hz 1080 LCD for $499 shipped (no tax to CA) from Conns.com. It is a Toshiba Regza 40XV645U model. I think this would be a good enough TV at a low price point if youre looking for something to put in the bedroom.

I know the budget is low but for $200 what speakers would suggest for a medium size living room with a Sony Bravia and ps3. Would you go new or used? Thanks.
