Some states have flattened their curves and that’s not good enough. Hospitals are empty and just waiting for a surge. To not atleast try to open in some capacity is the basis of the political argument that one side is set on doing one thing, while the other wants another.
The only way this statement is somewhat reasonable is if you can demonstrate (or link to someone who can demonstrate) that local governments can control the rate of infection to such a degree that hospitals can never be overwhelmed for an extended period of time. That would be a hard sell considering that the number of cases can double every day and were still trying to understand how the virus behaves.

The argument for reopening this early is simply financial and it is motivated by the fact that those at the top believe that those at the bottom are expendable.

Athersys and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UH Cleveland) announce that latter is now open as the first clinical site for the MACOVIA (MultiStem Administration for COVID-19 Induced Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) trial.

The company has received FDA authorization to begin the study and the process of clinical site initiation has already began.

UH Cleveland has commenced enrollment and is now screening COVID-19 induced ARDS patients for inclusion in the trial.

The MACOVIA trial aims to confirm the safety and efficacy of MultiStem therapy as a treatment for patients with moderate to severe ARDS due to COVID-19.

The primary efficacy endpoint will be number of ventilator-free days through day 28 as compared to placebo, and the secondary objectives are to evaluate clinical parameters (e.g., time in the intensive care unit), pulmonary function, all-cause mortality, tolerability and quality of life among survivors.

The study is designed to enroll ~400 subjects.

Co-Diagnostics, Inc. Releases COVID-19 Test Performance Data: Consistently Demonstrates 100% Sensitivity and 100% Specificity Across Independent Evaluations
LogixSmart real-time PCR test that detects RNA from the SARS-CoV-2 virus in lower respiratory tract fluids.

Tests performed in Australia (n=207), India (n=45) and Mexico (n not provided) showed 100% sensitivity and 100% specificity with no cross-reactivity with other viruses.

The test detected more low-level positives than the CDC test while testing at the Minnesota Department of Health showed 100% concordance with another (unnamed) assay.

You can't catch it again?

If people who had the flu vaccine are testing positive for the corona virus is it possible that people who test positive for the corona virus just have the flu?

Are there any flu statistics during the pandemic? How many people have just been diagnosed with the flu?

It's late I been drinking, I got a lot on my mind right now lol
These are valid questions though.

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott’s stay-at-home order expires Friday. The state-reported death toll of 119 over the past three days marks the deadliest stretch since Texas’ first fatality in the pandemic was recorded March 17. Thursday’s 1,033 new cases is the first time the state has been over 1,000 since April 10.

The number of infections is thought to be far higher because many people have not been tested and studies suggest people can be infected without feeling sick

This pandemic has allowed for the greatest wealth resistribution in human history.

Litterally hundreds of billions of tax payer money handed out to people without receipt. And the more we dig we see exactly who those people are.

483 million to a random vaccine company?

Man listen...

Look up Ken Griffin, Steve Cohen, Izzy Englander
*Their funds got bailed out last month
**posted Bloomberg article about 100 pages back

Coronavirus patients describe symptoms that last a month or more
  • Some patients say they’re struggling to get back to their regular lives a month after getting diagnosed with the coronavirus. They say they’re still experiencing symptoms intermittently.
  • Doctors say there’s still unknowns because the disease is still a “baby virus.”
  • There’s a wide variation among patients in how long symptoms last.

Moderna and Lonza Announce Worldwide Strategic Collaboration to Manufacture Moderna’s Vaccine (mRNA-1273) Against Novel Coronavirus
Collaboration goal to enable manufacturing of up to 1 billion doses per year

Technology transfer expected to begin in June 2020

First batches of mRNA-1273 expected to be manufactured at Lonza U.S. in July 2020

Collaboration leverages Lonza’s worldwide expertise in technology transfer and manufacturing

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. & BASEL, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 2020-- Moderna, Inc., (Nasdaq: MRNA) a clinical stage biotechnology company pioneering messenger RNA (mRNA) therapeutics and vaccines to create a new generation of transformative medicines for patients, and Lonza Ltd. (SIX: LONN) today announced a 10-year strategic collaboration agreement to enable larger scale manufacture of Moderna’s mRNA vaccine (mRNA-1273) against the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and additional Moderna products in the future.

Under the terms of the agreement, the companies plan to establish manufacturing suites at Lonza’s facilities in the United States and Switzerland for the manufacture of mRNA-1273 at both sites. Technology transfer is expected to begin in June 2020, and the companies intend to manufacture the first batches of mRNA-1273 at Lonza U.S. in July 2020. Over time, the parties intend to establish additional production suites across Lonza’s worldwide facilities, ultimately allowing for the manufacture of material equivalent to up to 1 billion doses of mRNA-1273 per year for use worldwide assuming the currently expected dose of 50 µg. The manufacturing facilities at Lonza complement Moderna’s ongoing U.S. manufacturing efforts, which continue to ramp up to prepare for the further clinical development and commercialization of mRNA-1273.

The mother****er leaders in these states just don't wanna pay more people unemployment benefits anymore............that's basically the common consensus I'm seeing with the states that are opening up AND the recent article I read about those states "ending" unemployment benefits for individual's whose job industries have re-opened up in their states.

:smh:
I said this about 2 weeks ago when people were saying they were doing better on unemployment than they were working. The low state minimum wages are being exposed by the stimulus cares act and governors want people off unemployment and back at their underpaid jobs ASAP.
