Love Thom Browne and love that price. I paid $550 for my strapped brogue.

Ya, even though they weren’t my personal style, they definitely were very well made and I liked how this pair had a boot styled lug sole. Other Thom Browne shoes I’ve seen have been welted and even have metal French tips on the toe. Definitely a different looking shoe in terms of dress shoes/ brogues. I got Tom Tord double monks for $100 less so I really wouldn’t be picking those up.

Are you in Toronto?

Ya @lamichaeljames2. I feel that the SL10H is perfect fitting when going ONE size down, but most of the other sneakers fit 0.5 size large at most or TTS. The skates were debated in here and I found them to fit small actually. I bought a 43 in skates and there was slight room but my regular size 42 was tight and uncomfortable in the toebox. Skates were just uncomfortable as **** in general.

It's just weird that there's no definitive answer because everyone's feet are different. The sales associate at my local SLP store told me people either buy a half size up on the SL10H or a half size down on them but never a full size down, but the SLP website says to buy a full size down. Sizing up on them though...really lmao

I wear true to size on mine.

And I've mentioned it before, but quality on SLP sneakers has become terrible over the past few years. I wore my all black SL10Hs from the first release back in 2013/14/whatever it was, and the quality on those is far better than the black/red pair that squeaks NONSTOP unless I grease it up with leather conditioner and put baby powder under the insoles. I hardly wear the black/red pair these days for this reason (can't really sell them since I messed with the insoles/beat them up to break them in)

Need some guidance—

The heel of my Santiags are getting worn down to the part where the sole is exposed. Would I be able to get a cobbler to replace this rubber black part? Has anyone here done this yet? If so, what would be the cost?

It's one of the easiest things to fix. Resoling the heels of a pair of boots I have cost me $40, but it could be $10-20 more/less depending on where you live.

Some of you all will buy this, only helping to continue this foolishness...

Gucci might be trying to restore their image, but they are still the tackiest "classic" designer brand on the planet. Everything they make now is catered to the attention seeking Instagram crowd, when they should be going back to their roots. It's like they never learned their lesson from the enormous gaudy Gucci logos from the early/mid 2000s that everyone on earth started bootlegging, resulting in their entire line looking like knockoffs (despite being real).

I mean, the hell is this? Not even the knockoff Gucci kicks in the past were this terrible.

Gucci doesn’t care about coming across as tacky. All they cared about was increasing their sales and they did. I’m not disagreeing with you about heritage and longevity but the simple fact is that when Alessandro started putting bees and flowers embroidered on things, it gave people the perception that Gucci was new and fresh again and intrigued people. A lot of people are straight up hypebeasts and will buy whatever can exude status and wealth. I agree with you that the stuff they’ve come out with in the last 2 years have been tacky as hell but it’s also made Gucci relevant and desirable among the rest of the industry.

True. I just associate the loud, tacky, logo'd out with bad taste and knockoffs, as that's exactly what killed Gucci for a long period of time. Cristiano Ronaldo and C grade rappers had everyone wearing fake giant GG belts and all over print jackets, and Gucci became just barely better than Coach out here. I feel like the same will happen again shortly, with garbage rappers wearing Gucci print arm casts now to go with their embroidered/all over print jackets.

Out of all the designer brands, I still like Saint Laurent the most. They still have some weird trash here and there (like most designers), but for the most part, they're low key and don't try to be too trendy,f which is why hardly any of their stuff since 2014 looks dated. Getting away from the giant YSL logos that people were bootlegging was the best move for the brand IMO

Man What?

You don't remember all those Ed Hardy dragon, tiger, skull, etc. print shirts and shoes people were wearing during the early-mid 2000s? A lot of these new Gucci releases look exactly like something from that brand.

I remember them...I never brought them.

But, I love what Gucci did...however, they are some tacky things...but overall, it's dope. (imo)

Yikes...I see what you're saying.

Fashion is a revolving door...not surprised.

I can gladly say I never owned Ed Hardy or anything like that from back in the day but the real problem with the fashion back then was that people took those really busy jackets and then added those embellished jeans and colorful Von Dutch hats so it was a mess.

I’m not really into the whole self deprecating fashion trend right now, especially when IMO, it doesn’t really work when you’re doing it to sell $600 t shirts and stuff like that. But I do like that there’s people trying new things.

Gucci came back last year as the top luxury fashion brand with Balenciaga and Off White trailing behind and dude is saying they done goofed.

Times change playboy.

Everybody in the hood was trying that look after Jim Jones did it.

Who said anything about sales? They're the go to brand for new money/fake rich type eight now, just like they were in the early/mid 2000s. After a few years they were relegated to Coach and Michael Kors status cause people got over the tacky look. That's all I'm saying; they're risking making the same mistake again. The brands that try too hard have a temporary boost in sales before falling into relative obscurity due to everyone having /bootlegging the brand (Prada, MCM, etc). We'll see. I just know that all the people I know that have been into designer clothing for years refuse to wear Gucci to this day just from the previous era alone.

Youre still negating the fact that things change.

And when things do change, so will the looks of the brands.

What does fake rich mean anyways? Gucci still commands a high price point.

Classic silhouettes and timeless pieces seem to be the favorite on NT. Anything else is trash.
