HIGH-END DESIGNER SHOE/CLOTHES/ACCESSORIES/WAYW THREAD

nah, you said rtw is designed to be tailored which makes no sense, completely contradicts the name/term itself

just buy your size and what fits you best, they dont have to be tailored

now if you got some big clothes because you lost weight or you want old jeans that has stacks to now have no break, then for sure go ahead, but to say majority of rtw has to be tailored to look right is just incorrect

rtw is cut and sewn to be worn as is as the designer sees it and i gurrantee 99% of the people who buys these clothes do not tailor any of them so saying their "nature" is to be tailored is wrong

rtw is cut and sewn to be worn as is as the designer sees it for literally one model, for their entire collection, which is why almost all rtw runway models have the same proportions. this design is then scaled up/down for sizing, and not actually designed for any size besides the single one originally designed for. 99% of the people who buy these clothes do not fit within the proportions of this original model, and even if they choose not to tailor their clothes, that doesn't mean they can't look better in them if they were to tailor them

absolutely not true at all, maybe the ones that are on the runway but doesnt make it to the stores but then those arent RTW

its dumb to say that clothes could always look better if cut and made for you because NO S**T  but people arent going out there to get t-shirts and hoodies altered because they arent meant to

but rtw is not all meant to be tailored, that is just a dumb premise, to say all your clothes has to be tailored and that is its nature

a lot of these clothes can look great without being touched, of course a lot could also look bad because people just have bad style and majority do not know how clothes fits them and many just do not know how to dress but some clothes are also just not meant to be worn by everybody

im not going to go back and forth but if you got the money and time to alter each piece of your clothing to fit you perfectly by the mm from your tees to beanies, from your socks to boxers and also not be able to afford to gain a pound or two or else the fit is off then by all means...

who do you think produces rtw sizing runs with proportions beyond scaling a single design up/down

A hem on pants would be fine IMO if too long but the reality is most consumers fit fine into the size ranges. Maybe if someone bought suiting then more alterations may be needed.

suits, blazers and trousers are a different story but plenty also comes unhemmed because they are meant to be tailored

Makes no sense to buy an ill-fitting garment, period.

Depends on your style and what your definition of ill fitting. Something thats meant to be oversized can stil be ill fitting, getting it TOO oversized for example. You can get away with it sometimes if you can really finesse.

i'm not saying loose and baggy hoodies/tees are supposed to be tailored to be form-fitting, i'm saying a lot of these fits can be further improved, which can be achieved with tailoring, rather than giving up on a garment altogether

makes no sense to design clothes based on one model that gets scaled up/down that people are forced to conform their bodies to rather than design garments around people's individual bodies, but here we are

Or just wear as is, no ones tailoring high end garments, jackets, etc. Maybe some TB trousers or shirt, but no ones gonna tailor jackets, coats, pants that are meant to be loose/baggy/wide etc.

Popular LV items have always been hard to acquire at launch. LV destroys unsold stock so to avoid doing that (and wasting money) they try to only produce what they think they can sell. If something sells out fast enough, and it’s not a limited piece, they’ll make more of it, but that could take months. Otherwise, they just stop making it and it becomes straight up rare.

pochette metis was impossible to get for the first two years it was out, certain colourway/lining combinations of the neverfull are still hard to get new, and it was also nearly impossible to get a LV Favorite up until they were discontinued this year if you didn’t have an SA who’ll hook you up. Even speedy bags, especially in damier azur, can be hard to come by.

idk anything about menswear that sells out lmao

those small lv bags seems to sell put quick and my theory is that its the cheapest and most affordable entry to the brand

remember when lv released those coin key chains? it was super cheap with the lv monogram and you get to clip on your belt loop so you got to show off you got something lv, that used to be lv/gucci belt but the **** keychain was a fraction of the price of the belt so it was selling out like crazy
