HOW MATERIALISTIC ARE YOU NT!?

I'm pretty vain i guess but i don't think it really manifest itself in materials. Whenever i put effort into something I'm pretty neurotic about how it/i am going to be looked at. Sometimes i try to step out of myself and see how unimportant it really is but its pretty hard.

I agree with what JimiLebowski said but id change it to "the less you want the easier life becomes".

I don't know, I'd say I'm materialistic but for a different reason than most people.

There's only one kind of material I really want: cars. Clothes, shoes, houses, I'm content with what people would consider "average" or "above average" (still stylish though, at least in my eyes - big fan of Nike/Under Armour, both of which are brand name but relatively cheap). But cars, I plan to own the best ones that I like and have a solid collection (around 10 or so).

For me, they are my way of knowing that I've made it. Ever since I was a kid I've wanted/dreamed about having nice cars, and growing up I was and still am not wealthy enough to afford any kind of car, let alone a nice one. Also, I am a huge speed demon and you just can't go flying everywhere in cheap cars - they aren't made for that.

Without cars as a way to know I've reached my ideal level of success, I have no other indicator, and one of my greatest fears is to live contently. I'm very happy with my life now, but I also live with my parents, and have never held a salary-paying job. The cars will provide motivation and a dream to strive for.

I'm not a fan of showing off. It feels good for about 20 minutes then it gets very annoying. I'm also a quiet guy by nature so the attention makes me feel uncomfortable. My chase for materials is to prove to myself that I've made it, not for anyone else to judge and take advantage of.

I could care less about cars, I could care less about a fancy house. In all honesty I am more addicted to learning and knowledge then I am of anything of material. (But being addicted or craving of knowledge can also be bad)
I would suggest reading "Dharma Bums"

great book
life must suck for you fam.
