How will the raise of minimum wage affect Seattle?

Just curious for those of you living in the area. Do you think this is a good move? How do you feel that this will effect the state economy overall?

I think the implementation is the important thing to keep track of because it'll be a 3 year roll out supposedly. It might hurt small businesses in the long run since they have to pay workers a higher salary, but I think if the US follows suit, it would level the economic playing field.

I think workers should be paid more in general, but that's a nation-wide issue to solve, not just a state issue.
