Yeah..I know a few sites, companies and LinkedIn Groups as well.

I had a gig with USAID for Qatar....I have family in France, Morocco and Egpyt/Saudi Arabia (Dubai).

My estranged Uncle owns his own company in Dubai.

What does everyone think about Trump's federal employee reduction plan?
and pay freeze for those that remain.

Im not happy one bit.

I work with military vehicles...hard to see how they reduce us (after having already done during the recession) and also build the military up.

smh

Military, public safety, and public health are exempt from the freeze so I am good.

I think that in the future grunt workers like TSA Officers, CBP Officers, and other federal agencies with a large uniformed officer presence are going to go private. None of the leadership/oversight will go private but field offices will be centralized leaving maybe one SAC or Director for a large area, small areas will have a ASAC or Manager/Supervisor who reports to the SAC at the larger field office, and fatcats with seniority making 160k doing jack are going to be phased out.

Does this Pay/Hiring Freeze mean that Contractors will thrive? I'm about to graduate in Jan 2018 with my degree in Cyber security and I'm not trying to sit on the bench the next 3-4 years....

Does a hiring freeze necessarily equate to a pay freeze though?

My thoughts/belief is that step increases will remain, but no new hires and no promotions.

we just went through this in 2011-2014.

Vera/visp.

you cant increase the military and cut positions (at least i dont think you can where im at.)

I am not in the military. I am a Dept of the Army Civ.

i dont think you can enlarge the military and not increase the civs who support the military. does not seem feasible.

(looking for more clarity, which has always lacked with him)

Government Contracting and Procurement isn't about what is feasible, what makes sense or any semblance of efficiency. It's about meeting metrics/deadlines and trying to do it while being as cheap as possible but somehow blowing money all over the place and shrinking the fiscal spending budget of each sector/department needing products and services.

I'd do it. AF Pathways changed my life. I moved to Boston over my winter and summer break to work . Don't regret it 1 bit.

True indeed, you have to do what's best for you.....sometimes the opportunities present themselves at the most inopportune times. Trust your gut. :smokin

I would but I can't w/ classes. Some parts of my program are only offered in the summer and I'm trying to finish by Dec 2017 so I have to go straight through or believe me I would go for it.

Yea, hopefully I fill out this application for this position out adequately to get a call back. Starting salary isn't a lot so I gotta sell my skills to get the G07 at least

To me school isn't that important to turn down opportunities IMO school will always be there a deadline is just something you have set in your mind. I know you need experience, if you did get the position I would think about the pros and cons.

A masters with 0 experience will be looked at as overqualified for a lot of entry level positions.
