So, help me make sense of this below. Looking for a new business internet provider for a client.  Two locations. Currently installed Adsl, terrible up/down speeds. And hosted VOIP(8 phones combined.

We essentially need a faster data connection(for streaming mostly, no file sharing, data transfers). And enough reliable bandwidth for the hosted VOIP aspect.

iCore networks has offered up the solution below, which seems like extreme overkill for our needs. Can anyone weigh-in?  I'm not a network/VoIP guy. the 50/10 connection is cable, the 5x5 is ethernet. NRC = one-time non-recurring costs. MRC = monthly rates

Got accepted into John Hopkins MS in Cyber Security program, but I am 95% sure I will be changing to MS in Systems Engineering with a Project Management concentration.

Will be starting classes this fall, my company is covering 100% pretty excited to start. Should be done in 2018.

Kennesaw state MSIT program was originally part of Southern Poly tech but the two merged. Im doing this mainly for resume as company is paying majority of it, G Techs MBA program has GMAT waivers if you have an advance degree already so goal is to set myself up for that in the future

@LuckyLuchiano that's a smart move hopefully everything come through for you man. When did they say you should hear back? 

I'm doing the same thing I need that GMAT waiver for the MBA too I can't fade standardized test.

I emailed them since I turned my app in about 3.5 weeks ago and they informed me they got it and right now the committee is reviewing apps as they do it on a basis based on the order they come in. And yea I dont rock with Standardized test at all as they literally have nothing to do with MBA programs curriculum (hell does HS type math and reading questions have to do with Case Study style teaching) on top of I think a persons experience should trump a dumb test. IMO it would be ideal to have a 5-10 yr experience being a waiver to those test.

Depends on where you're trying to get your foot in the door. Network+, Security+, or any of the ____+ certs will look good at entry level.

How's it going fam, I'm interested in pursuing a career in the IT field and was wondering what is your opinion on the 2 following locations, as far as job market, schooling and overall location. I'm getting out of the military soon and am thinking of going back home to CA or move to MD. My wife has friends and family in MD, and we'd be able to stay with them till we can transition back into civilian life. School/certs would be taking care of for the most part from the education benefits I will be receiving. Would love to hear any feedback/experience to what state would be better. By the way,  I'm a signal support specialist. Job description says I work with computers, sattelites, and radios but in my experince, I've dealt with mainly tactical radios. I've done basic troubleshooting with computers and learned some networking but that's it. I also hold a clearance. Thanks in advance for any advice yall can give.

Agreed. Stay in the DC area, either get some certs, or start pursuing a degree at UMUC. Very military friendly.

@exo1127  which clearance do you have? The higher the easier it is to land a job out here. If you have a TS i'd just start applying at govt agencies and govt contractors now and worry about education and certs later.

I took it back in 2011 back when it was a just paper exam. That was during my cert pursuing days. Best advice is to think like a manager in your answer picking decision making. Don't think like a tech.

I got my BA from UMUC. Hated the experience despite the quality of the program. Probably just wanted shorter semesters versus the 12-16 week ones they had at the time. Also pretty expensive. I want a Master's. I'm leaning toward WGU but am open to a standard online education.

Whatsup man, sorry to hear that. What specific locations are you interested in working in? I believe there are some admin jobs out in the mclean, herndon, chantilly, and dulles area. Also did you put your resume on LinkedIn? Make sure you have your clearance level in your header. You will get contacted by recruiters.

Man I get those too. They are crazy

I am 7 years in with mine and fully cleared and they will send me some Senior Lead Engineer where they want like 12+ years of experience and have experience with being a manger/lead before. Looks like everyone just searches for keywords and mass emails everyone these days, lol

A lot of people at my current gig are converting to govt of recent. I can check with my company's job board to see what they have. They are based in Chantilly so I am sure they have some around that way too.
