iPhone 5S drops this June

Apple needs to offer a damn trade in program and droid users talk like Android doesn't have a new flagship phone every month. (Just came from android when the 5 released)

I'm really curios, how this will affect Apple, it's a pretty big decision they made, by speeding up the introduction of new models. The question is will it be sustainable in the long-run. And there is the risk that Apple which usually offers pretty big leaps regarding specs, design, software, etc. during a new update. ON contrary this is an entirely new business model. On the upside, one doesn't necessarily have to worry about the newest release, because the currently released 2-3 models will be pretty much up to date. ALthough personally I use on iPhone 4 and I don't see why I would have to replace it for the next few years to come, hope it keeps up.

But numerous colors? Now that is a huge turn off for me. I disliked it in the iPods, but the iPhones, wow, I hate it....

I seen an iphone commercial about the noise cancelling mic, i was like damn my old nexus 1 Inspire 4g had that ish
laugh.gif

never understood the big deal about that...

With the current set up, if the you're using headphones to listen to music on your iPhone while it's in your pocket, if you reach to take your phone out it will be upside down and require readjusting in your hand. If the jack were on the bottom end you would reach end the phone would already be in a natural position as you take it out.

thats a big deal?

man, people these days

Examples like this invalidate the whole "iPhone is innovative" argument. They're so behind tech wise that they are using panorama as a selling point...:|

I hope the new iphone is somewhat different so I can brag about owning it to anyone with later iphone models.

true but mine is....which is the point (and it didnt cost me anything to do so)...if i paid 2 years ago iuno...i think it was 299... for a phone... why would i now 2/3 years later buy a new phone that does the same thing that my current phone does now.... just to say oh now i dont have to use it jailbroken...?

It would be like me owning a fully loaded car...that i bought from someone who added did all the hook ups w/o coming stock that way, selling the car only to buy the car fully loaded from the factory. And spending more money to do so...Just wouldnt make sense. Thus why i gace away my iphone 5.

Stock the phone is behind the times, in terms of features and advances in new technology. And outside of camera and operating system (and construction of the phone, apple does make a quality product) its a mid level basic phone... I get the esp...from the young kiddies oh that the old phone we off that, i got the new iphone... But when i use my custom siri,or they hear you have a incomming text from...etc... they always stop and ask where is that feature on my iphone? Or what app did you get to do such and such?

I just walk along and laugh....and say oh nah your good you have the latest and greatest iphone the 5 remember....?
you still rockin a 3gs?

I saw the S3 and the Note II in the store today.
eek.gif
 They are bright and nice!

However, I ended up upgrading to the iPhone 5.

All of the technological advances and features that the S3 and Note II have that the iPhone doesn't have I won't ever use, or care to use.

I use my phone mostly to text, call, check my email, ipod, and check out NikeTalk. I don't care for widgets and I barely ever use apps.

The iPhone 5 is sufficient to MY preferences, but the S3 and Note II are great looking phones.

People these days? I didn't say it was a big deal, you did actually.

It really doesn't matter whether it's a big deal or not, placing the headphone jack at the bottom of the device is more functional.

yes and no for putting in the pocket yes...for wearing with a holster no

Just from working at verizon and AT&T it's clear that there are people that love both iPhones and droids equally. I had a razr max when working at verizon and an iPhone 4. I have to say over all iPhone had less problems. Even battery life was better even tho droid was 4g lte. With my Iphone 5 the battery sucks but still better then droid. Got rid of droid and copped a good ol blackberry. Most reliable phone ever

Rocking the 4S right now. Not impressed with the 5, so I'll skip the 5S and see what the 6 has to offer.

The iPhone 5 starts at $199 whereas the iPhone 4S starts $99 and the iPhone 4 is now free.
on sale iphone 5 is for 129...(i am not sure if it still is) also refurb is 99.. still relatively the same well 30 bucks...

$129 is a deal. I got mine from Best Buy less than 2 weeks ago for $150. That reminds me that I need to return my lightning cable.

Damn, I got my iPhone5 3 weeks ago and paid $199 w/ contract renewal. Did Best Buy have a deal or sale? I might be able to get a price adjustment if it is still going on.

Im about done with Apple. New product every 6 months and nothing really changes? I'm good, no more supporting from me.

But you don't need to buy every products though?

Do people really feel obligated to get the newest product from Apple all the time? That is the only reason I see this being such a big deal to people, I mean my iphone4 weren’t obsolete at all before I switched to the iPhone5 several weeks ago.

Yes they did and they may still have it going on because I picked mine up on 12/13. I would definitely try for the price adjustment.

Have the i5 from a 4s, really bored with it at this point really thinking about the s3 or note 2

just got a new 32GB 4S the day after Christmas for $130 @ Best Buy. have 0 desire to cop a 5S...will wait for the 6

Glad I held off on the 5....now my question is....deal with my crappy 4 for 6 more months or just eff it and get the 5 as I usually planned....hmmmm decisions....decisions...

I said eff it and got the 5 yesterday. I also had the 4 and the home button was the worst, took me like 3 mins just to exit an app.

The 5 will not come out in June. You can quote me on that.

I would look for a late August or early September release.

I just don't see how ppl can buy a new phone w/ the same OS year after year and not get tired of it but I guess to each his/her own

Meets their needs, that's all it ever comes down too.

The bulk of society use their phones for calls, texts, email, web browsing, some games here and there, listen to music.

Iphone is popular so imessage helps, app store on iphone is good, you can text and browse easily, it has great ipod integration (works the same, itunes and all)....that's all people can ask for and apple knows it.

Trust me the busier you get the less you want. The people that want cool stuff on thier phone and 90000 widgets are the ones that have the time to play with it. My iphone 4S is jailbroken and i haven't downloaded an app or tweak or even changed my icons in 6 months since i switched projects at work. I see how simplicity is appealing now that i don't even want to use my phone when i get home from a long day at work.
