Ok so I was an early adopter of the first Gen Iphone and never redeemed my $100 gift certificate. Does anybody know if this is still available to me? Thatwould b major!!

Was considering buying this phone when it comes out this week, but it sounds like the Blackberry Thunder is coming to Verizon in September. Might have to holdoff and see what ya'll have to say when the 3G iPhone releases.

no that 100 gift certificate expired it was only redeemable i think for about 2months after it was issued

I know you must activate in-store and give them a gov-issued ID and SSN so that incase you cancel you must return the phone or else they will charge you right?What if I buy it from someone off craigslist who doesn't know until after I get it from them, will I be able to get away or will att be able to track me?

LOL at dudes who think they gonna be able to just get by on WiFi, if you're not gonna get the data plan they there is no point to getting the phone. Whodoesn't get an iPhone for the "real" internet? Thats one of the main features. Some of yall are just throwing money out the window.

I am in the market for a new phone and the sprint touch is what I am leaning towards because of the slingbox capabilities.

you can do MMS from a jailbroken iphone


Makes no sense that you can do it on a jailbroken iphone but you can't do it on the regular iphone...its a damn standard of 3G phones! and not even 3Gphones, even regular $%@ phones can receieve picture messages!!!

Why would you do that though?

no matter how you break it down, the price is gonna be the same with the activation fee and the etf on the line you opened.

You can cancel after the 30 days and just pay the ETF. They won't come after you because simply put they're gonna basically break even with youafter it's all said and done.

$299 for the phone
$175 Etf
$36 Activation fee
$40 for the first month of service
$30 for the first month of the Iphone data

Those are just the standard fees and that brings your total up to 580 without taxes. Best way for you is to get someone to do the upgrade on their existing Attline and just give you the phone if your not using it on att.

my only question is whats good with the ringtones?
If you're on a mac you can make any song into a ringtone on garage band. If you're on a pc you can make a ringtone on the itunes store.

If you already got the code and everything, then yes you can still use it. Didn't get the code, then its a no go.

Yea, I sold my original iPhone about a month ago to purchase the new, but after seeing the new one I think I will rather have the original. Theres quite afew deals on craigslist I'm trying to jump on. I'm waiting on a response for an 8 gig for $150. Theres quite a few people selling them from 200-250 for8 gb

i just called at&t customer service on my lunch break... turns out i am eligible for the 199/299 price because i was a new at&t customer and have anupgrade i can use if i choose. i have had my iphone since the end of jan. i was going to sell this 1gen one and copp the new joint... but i'm going tochill because apple is funny sometimes with last minute changes and stuff.

gonna keep this one a while longer, maybe jailbrake and unlock it.
