You download the program/tool. For example Ziphone is a program i used to unlock/jailbreak my phone when I got it. You restore the phone to factorysettings thenyou open up Ziphone just choose the option to "Do it All". And you just sit back for 10 mins. Then its done.

Are you getting a 3g signal when your doing the apps? If your not getting the 3g signal then you may be running edge which can't do voice & data at the same time.

Yeah, I had 3g turned off, turned it back on while using radio apps and I was able to recieve calls. Weird cause you can still recieve calls while using AIM on edge... Oh well. Thanks for the help fam. Been trying to figure it out for the past 2 days.

No problem...Aim only connects when a message is being sent or received so that may be why you can do AIM on edge and receive a call.

This may sound silly but for those of us who have the 1st gen iphone when we update to 2.0 and are using T-Mobile we will get all the same apps as the newiphone right? Except for the 3G right? Meaning that we get the GPS and AIM?

/\ GPS is not a app...it's actual technology with specific hardware in the phone.

But you'd get all the apps available in the App Store.

GPS is hardware. Not Software. So, no it will not be in the 2.0 software update.

I LOVE the touch screen.

Texting and having to look at the screen and use two hands wasn't fun. I got used to my gf's Pearl really quick I'm still trying to find other alternatives but the Bold is what I'm stuck on right now

I switch phones too much. I've got the Iphone, just left the curve. I'm debating on the Bold too but I also thinking about grabbing the NokiaE71 or E66.

The question I now have is can the jailbroken phone still purchase Apple App Store applications, and if not, will those developers move to developing for the jailbroken phone as opposed to for the Apple Store. This has already happened shareware style for the original iPhone.

This may not come down to a question for developers, as there may be a large number of people jailbreaking their iPhones, and if Apple blocks these people from using the Apple Apps Store, developing for jailbroken machines could become more mainstream. This also raises ethical questions… for example, will Apple continue to allow someone who has programmed a jailbroken application to develop for the Apple App Store?

The answers should be revealed all in good time, but personally I just can't wait to get my new iPhone… I might brave the crowds today.

If you buy an unlocked phone with installer (an app that lets you add more apps) You can add the Tzones hack that will cost you $5.99 for everything Web,weather, maps, youtube. The only difference I have noticed is that while YOutube works you cant search for videos, you can view the featured videos. Speed is alittle bit slower you cant even notice it compared to the EDGE. Its a good deal saves you $168 a year on internet, thats a new pair of Jordans.

I don't know, I'm feeling kinda iffy about using the first software available that's gonna allow me to upgrade and unlock/jailbreak all over again.I'm just nervous that it's gonna have some issues and maybe some stuff won't work properly. I mean that's got to be the case since there are somany different options to unlock previous versions.

I agree. I would LOVE to have 2.0 unlocked as soon as it's ready, but at the same time I'm patient enough to chill with 1.4.4 until everything is tothe point where we can do it with no problems or worries about bricking.
