Is Lebron James still the best basketball player right now?

you said teams need 2 of the top 3 players in the league to beat lebron. they dont.

and lebron needed a stacked deck for HIMSELF to even break through with those 3 ships you mentioned. other non-kd warriors teams didnt.

With the exception of the 2011 Finals, every team Lebron played against in the Finals had more talent

this is the third time you moved the goal posts.

from "the ONLY way to beat lebron is with 2 of the top 3 players in the league" to "you need a STACKED deck to beat lebron" to "well you need more talent :smile:lol)" which is subjective. 3 of the 4 miami teams had more talent and/or experience than their finals opponents. only durant on that thunder team was mvp calibur at that time and they had ZERO experience.

and what do favorites and espn picks even matter when youre the GOAT? dirk is FAR from the GOAT and took down a team of 3 all stars. the 2015 finals against a green and durant-less warriors team was another winnable chip, even without kyrie. and lebron has no one to blame but himself for the durant version of the warriors considering he started the trend.

his last 2 finals L's are a direct result of his initial cowardice and weakness ~8 years ago when he formed a superteam as a 20-something superstar in his prime.

The goal posts aren’t being moved. You’re more so trying to attack Lebron from multiple angles and don’t want to acknowledge facts to diminish any of your claims as to why Lebron is anything short of a top 5 player of all time and clearly still the best player in the league today. You’re switching narratives as to when experience matters and it doesn’t. You claiming that “Dirk is FAR from the GOAT” is diminishing how great Dirk was/is all to hate on Lebron who obviously needed an extremely front loaded team of All Stars to topple him this season. Lmao at you saying that the 2015 finals against a “green” 67 win team was a winnable chip for Lebron  Cavs only won 53 that year and that’s with K. Love and Kyrie on the court. He had no K. Love in the finals and no Kyrie for 5 out of the 6 games of the finals. Endearing if you actually believe that was Lebron’s title to steal and not the Warriors though. That would show how much expectation there is on Lebron while highlighting how good you think he is. His last 2 finals losses are a direct result of a certain player in OKC and a certain organization in the Bay Area being immensely threatened by Lebron ACTUALLY doing the unthinkable and beating a team that was defending champs, had a 2 time unanimous MVP, won 73 games and were up against his team in the finals 3-1. So they teamed up to defeat him and a bunch of players who never knew what the Eastern Conference Finals looked like before Lebron came back to Cleveland let alone the finals. Its hard to ignore it.

i started by only contending your statement that "the ONLY way to beat lebron is with 2 of the top 3 players in the game" which was WRONG. its YOU thats been looking to bargain and walk back/qualify that statement and make excuses for lebrons multiple other failures since then.

when i said dirk was far from the GOAT, was i lying? how many times has he been compared to jordan? ill wait.

you keep pointing out that it took a multiple all star team to take down lebron the last 2 years while ignoring the elephant in the room that lebron not only started that trend but needed it to break through himself. you have no leg to stand on.

and was that 2015 warriors team not green? they ever been to the finals before? no? okay. lol at pointing to reg seaon win totals like it means something. how much did reg seasons wins matter for dirks team that got ousted by the 8 seed?

if im not mistake lebron was UP in that series in 2015 with a game at home, correct? dirk who is indeed FAR from the GOAT took down 3 all stars to himself being one. that was AT LEAST as tall of a task as lebron taking down the warriors 3 all stars to himself being one, had he actually accomplished it.

lebron started the trend of 20-something superstars in their prime forming a superteam. but it was even worse than that because he was the BEST player in the game forming the superteam. the player in the league with the most physical/talent advantages decided he needed to stack the deck on top of it. how am i feeling if im NOT the best player in the game? once lebron broke that seal, superteams became fair game. its evolve or die, and lebron murked himself.
