I would add that abstaining from voting is just privileged grandstanding. Particularly in a swing state.
Instead of voting for or against a candidate/party, abstainers are just voting against their own self-interests.


It really doesn’t take much time out of anyone’s day to see where exactly both candidates stand on issues that person deems most important, examine their track record, their words, …
Then reduce all that to a simple logical deduction: Which option is least in line with those personal interests? Who comes closest to aligning with those interests? Whatever you wanna call it, there is fundamentally no such thing as “(both) are the same”, that’s just a lazy copout.


Abstainers are either just deeply ignorant or privileged to the point where their lives aren’t really affected negatively regardless of who wins.


That being said, of course dissatisfaction with any country’s politicians and decisions is gonna result in voter fatigue. That’s natural and it’s up to politicians to do better.
Where it becomes delusional grandstanding is when you see abstaining voters proudly announcing it like they’re doing something useful.

You would think that Booker’s team would better prepare him to tactfully respond to questions about aipac being in his pockets. I don’t know Booker’s stance on Israel’s actions but if I was a US politician, I’d hustle every possible dollar out of AIPAC’s lobbying and then just spend it on aid to Palestine

Especially now, AIPAC is trying to ‘lobby’ damn near everyone as long as they think money can convince them

It would be so easy to hustle those bums and laugh as they rage about their money going to aid for Palestinians
