Viceland will be debuting a wrestling documentary series titled “The Dark Side of the Ring” some time this fall, which will cover “controversial” topics from the world of wrestling.
There will be six documentaries and they’ll be about the following topics, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
– Bruiser Brody
– Randy Savage & Elizabeth
– The Montreal Screwjob
– The Von Erichs
– Fabulous Moolah
– Gino Hernandez
According to the Observer, the original plan was for ten episodes and Chris Benoit was on the list, but that episode was cut out when the show was cut to six episodes.
The series will be narrated by Mick Foley.
The premiere episode is about Bruiser Brody, who died in 1988 at age 42 after being stabbed by fellow wrestler José Huertas González in the locker room at a show in Puerto Rico.
