interview with pepsi for a general laborer position, anyone ever done something like that or have any experience with a pepsico interview?
my fault "general labor"
"Position responsibilities may include general housekeeping (e.g., sanitation, yard cleaning, scrubbing, changing lights, etc.) Responsible for pallet repair, reworking damaged or returned product, and supplying plastic flats to the production line, etc. Maintain records, complete paperwork and documentation. Entry-level position performs miscellaneous support tasks throughout warehouse and/or manufacturing areas. May perform yard jockey duties as well.
This position requires pushing/pulling and lifting/carrying between 20 and 45 lbs repeatedly throughout a long work shift. In addition, the position requires constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping.
Experience operating a forklift is helpful, but not required.
PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Perform various physical duties as assigned, including but not limited to sorting, stacking, cleaning and minor repair or maintenance tasks. * Maintain all safety standards * Regular, reliable, predictable attendance"
Congrats, man. They actually call references? I ask because most firms, including the ones I've worked for, never call and if someone calls, usually a 3rd party company, we just give them the date of employment. We don't really say he's a good or bad worker due to liability.Got a job offer today from the firm in nyc. It's contingent on my last reference and a drug screening but ***** WE MADE IT
To all my people going through it, keep your head up and stay active. Going over materials I need for my profession and going to the gym were some of the best things I've done while looking for work. Keeping my body active really helped fight depression.
Good luck to everyone
You in downtown Charleston? I lived down there for a little over a year and a lot of folks I knew seemed to face the same problems you were having.
Word. She's a keeper.Shorty has some star qualities right there man
Still haven't heard anything. It's annoying when you don't get that confirmation you didn't get it.
I read that in other countries they're much more direct.
Did you follow up at all? Or just wait for a response. I'm in that boat right now.Still haven't heard anything. It's annoying when you don't get that confirmation you didn't get it.

Got ya, I'm familiar with the area. I was going to suggest applying to jobs in Mt. Pleasant, as it is continuously growing, but sounds like you're all set now.

I'll try to make this as short as possible...
Need some input for my sister, she's a social worker and does a lot with hospice patients. The reason she decided to take this job and leave her previous one was that it offered about 10k more and she felt she could have a positive impact with personal/emotional ties since our grandmother was on hospice. Every time I speak with her she's emotionally drained, she takes home tons of work, co workers and boss offer little support (she was recently thrown under the bus for something), and has less time to enjoy for herself. She recently got engaged and wants to keep the job in order to save for the wedding, but I can tell the job is wearing on her and I hate to see her not enjoy her job like she previously did. My question is, what was the breaking point for anyone who was in a similar situation? I've been in the hunt for an engineering job for a while and the only advice I can give her is to be thankful for a job while striving to eventually be where you want to be. I feel like she is under tremendous stress and I would appreciate any relevant input that I can maybe pass on to her. TIA
*edit* sorry fambs for such a long post
This is very unprofessional on the part of your references, especially since you reached out to them beforehand and specifically asked them to be references.
Anyone ever have a situation like this happen to them?
I interviewed for a job a few weeks ago, think I did really well on the interview HR even told me so, all the feedback was great to the point where they asked me for my references. The thing is that they wanted a reference from a current coworker and my current manager to be two of the three. Now if they're going to ask for those specific references and essentially put me in a position where I make it known that I'm entertaining the idea of leaving my current job you'd think I'd have this wrapped up.
But come to find out, my references came back so-so, which to be honest is ridiculous, I'm not a bad or average employee by any stretch of the imagination, I've kept every performance review I've gotten as evidence of that, I've been publicly recognized for my performance in front of the company etc etc. I even just accepted a promotion the week before this situation came about which I think is what rubbed them the wrong way.
The question I have is, can a bad reference really make that much of a difference? I'm like two steps away from calling people out on them cause its not cool that they did that honestly, I would never do that to someone even if I thought they were the worst. I would praise them to death.
I called last week Friday which is when I found out about the whole reference thing, HR told me, and they also mentioned that the hiring manager didnt want to see any more resumes because he really liked me (he said he was reading an email that he received from him) and that they would get back to me on Monday. They didnt call, so now I'm just in an overall funk about it. This job was gonna be everything I wanted and to have it potentially be mine over this would set me off.
