I'm getting a huge vibe that there is a giant disparity with the feelings towards this album. Not just on here but on JBTV (where ppl complain about any and everything, bunch of losers there who claim to be hardcore fans) on twitter n everywhere.

A lot of people are really disappointed with MM4 and I haven't heard a legit reason why...

Is it because it's not as dark as MM2 was?

Do people not understand that this entire project was based on growth and change and it's a different sound. The lyrics are different...it's new...and I guess people can't adapt.

I haven't given MM4 an honest listen yet...I've had it going for the last day trying to digest it but I haven't locked in and listened from front to back with my Sony studio headphones.

It just seems the perception of this tape was been negative. My 2 cents for now

(this is a response to venom above me, read it as so)
beats suck, kind of monotone.

I respect his lyricism so I can get over it.

it's not "depressed music" but still seems like more of the same...

Yo, tape is FLAMES.
Joey is one of the best out.
Tape def has a different feel from the rest, on the lines of he doesnt have to prove himself as lyrical as on MM2 and isnt as cynical/depressing as MM3.
Its almost as he's grown to come to terms with life and is starting to take it for what it is/enjoying it.

Right now No Idea is my fave track. Lyrics & beat is just
pimp.gif

The sequence from No Idea to Black Cloud to Follow Your Lead is greatly done imo.
Styles absolutely went in on Dessert For Thought.

MM2 was hardly as dark as MM3 was, and is for the most part upbeat. Probly y it gets the most praise.

I agree with a few that the beats aren't all that great but he makes them work lyrically and you begin not to care. If ya'll know Joe, his beat picking isn't the best lol but I dont think they are that bad on this particular mixtape. We've sure as hell heard worse (Escape Route, Halfway House). Aside from that, I think this is his best work yet and it has plenty of balance in it. I think MM3 might be ONLY a couple of songs better, if even that much...

I don't think MM3 was as dark as MM2. Factorin tracks like Roll Call, 5th Gear, etc.
I haven't listened to it yet. Probably gon do it tomorrow on my way to the gym and in the gym. That'll give me time to let it marinate. And I know Joey picks some !##*** beats

but w/ the lyrical content, I don't even notice.

Definitely a dope tape, "Stuck in the moment" has been on repeat.

Personally I like the evolution of Buddens that is showcased with this mixtape.

People are going to hate regardless, such is life...but for what it's worth this is pretty ill and definitely something to be proud of for all those involved.
