It's not that deep.
I drive a Mercedes C300 and took off all the badges and put an AMG grill and S63 badge on the back and people think I drive S63.
As long as it looks good (like my 14k Rolex with bootleg movement or gold plated chains) then that's all that matters.

I’m 28, I’ll be 29 in December. I’m not sure if that constitutes me as young or old but I’ll let you all be the judge of that. That being said, I’ve been into sneakers my whole life, obviously more hardcore as I got older and had my own source of income.
I say all that to say, I never thought for a second that people would be willing to justifiably buy reps for any reason at all

This isn't 10 years ago where your fake will get noticed with a quick glance 10 feet away. We're not talking Great Value brand imitation here.
Never cared enough to buy but it's interesting to monitor the situation.

IF and when I strike out on these for retail, I’ll probably just let it go. I like them but not for $800, especially when they’d be getting worn into the ground and I have dozens of other shoes.. But if I did want them that badly, and could get something 90% similar for a fraction of the price, and nobody in real life would ever know or care about the difference..

I didn’t mean to start a whole heated debate, as I said in my post I don’t own a single pair of fakes(that I’m aware of). It’s really not that serious tho y’all acting like one comment about fakes is blasphemous, was just spouting off a thought.
My whole point is that when Nike under supplies a product, it leaves a demand that someone else will be prepared to supply. NIKE DELIBERATELY CHOKING PRODUCTION NUMBERS IS THE WHOLE REASON RESELLERS EXISTS.. The longer Nike continues to play games with us on the more desirable shoes, the less I feel like jumping through their hoops and BS. But I’m also not willing to pay $600-800 to a reseller either. if I was desperate to have this shoe, the only options I would be left with are theft or buying knock offs lol. I won’t lose any sleep over not having these shoes, I WOULD lose sleep over paying quadruple the cost of the shoe to someone who games the system against me by using bots.
There’s prolly a bunch of us in here who have paid resell prices for Cool Gray 11s and Patent Bred 1s , and don’t even know their pair are reps that passed thru Stock X and GOAT legit checks. It’s not like 2000s fakes anymore. Not one single person in my real life would know the difference, or even care to know the difference in my shoes.

The way I have always seen it is, if the shoe means that much to you, you will pay the resell. I have done it several times. There is nothing wrong with Ls. Everyone has their own price limit.

Yes I agree Nike intentionally limits the supply and that’s why reselling exists. But that’s not “playing games” with you any more than PRL or LV or Gucci or any brand is “playing games” when they charge you hundreds for a jacket that cost like $10 to make. The point is they want their products to be exclusive. The former does it through limited quantities and the latter does it by setting high prices right out the gate. And there’s nothing wrong with any of this because no one’s forcing you to buy anything

The Hypes, the ones that buy for attention and recognition.
The sellers, the ones that only want gain.
Yes, there is a grey area in all three, but that is what it comes down to. To me anyway. The hypes, and the sellers screw people like me from getting what I am willing to pay for. Forcing at times to pay resell value. Nike loves this ****. Its not stopping.
