Kid came up to me and said nice shoes I have the same ones (was wearing 350 Zebras) and I could tell from a mile away his were fake asf. I asked where he got them and he said his friend. Told him he might wanna get those checked out.

So if you get good fakes I guess so. If you’re gonna be a scumbag, at least get good asf fakes

That kid's brother tried to question one of my pairs and kept asking how I knew mine were real. Told him unless Adidas was selling fakes directly from their website, I was pretty sure. Had another kid last year come in my room and say "Blake says all your shoes are fakes." I said "no he didn't," and then that kid proceeded to call him out in front of the class. I told him to present any evidence he had, and we could debate it from there. Whole class went oooooooo! and in a shocker to absolutely nobody, kid never said another word.

It's kinda funny, because for the most part it's a very easy rapport builder with most of the students I have. They get excited to come show me their new pairs, no matter what brand or style. They ask me for cleaning tips. They ask me if I've seen whatever unattainable hypebeast shoe is about to drop. Matter of fact, literally saw a kid this morning with the black/royal Jumpman Pros and he got super fired up when I told him I had them back in the day and they were one of my all time favorites. The instances like the fake accusations are super rare, and most kids have fun with it. It's also funny trying to get them to understand that just because they haven't seen them, doesn't mean they're new. Stuff like that allows me to preach taking care of your belongings and to take pride in your appearance.
