Jordan 1 Chicago - Reimagined aka Lost and Found - November 19, 2022

Even if Tinker Hatfield hand crafted them…? This is too far. It’s almost getting to the “mindless sheep” point. You guys are saying you’d rather wear cardboard on your feet rather than fine Italian leather designed by the former guy who initially designed the shoe just because of “legitimacy”?

I wouldn’t rock a shoe that Tinker hand crafted. Lol. That dude knows how to design a shoe, but he sure as hell ain’t piecing those joints together. Lol

Okay, avoiding the point. Fine Tinker oversaw the hand crafting by the God of Shoe Making but they weren’t officially sold by Nike.

Oh please lol. We're going on 10 years now since bots have been introduced to the field. Nike could've stopped this a long time ago if they truly wanted to, they clearly do not care. As long as they exceed profit margins, who cares what is and isn't fair right?

I wasn’t gonna respond but essentially this.

Nike really thinks their consumers are fools who will believe anything. They’ve had years to deal with bots.

Also, remember when Nike supposedly was taking back store accounts who got caught backdooring? How’d that turn out.

Nike ain’t low.

If its that specific scenario and it passes legit checks on SX, Goat, whatever (yes I know they arent bulletproof) and you do your own homework and legit check and everything checks out then shiiiiii everything good in the hood. Knowingly buying reps though, thats the problem. Otherwise hey.
Exactly my point. If I bought a pair through one of the resell mediums, and it checks out like this after being thoroughly vetted, it is what it is. This convo wouldn’t even be had about said hypothetical pair because ALL indications and inspections would say legit. But knowingly buying one of these reps, fakes, etc., is what I’m not gonna do.

I was saying EVEN IF IT HAD THE SHAPE AS IF it was handcrafted by Peter or Tinker, not ACTUALLY hand crafted by them.

Nike doesn’t need to focus on fakes at the moment. They need to focus the balance between supply and demand and ACCESS. Last word in caps for emphasis. And personally I feel like they’ve actually been doing a pretty good job with that for most releases excluding super hyped releases like collabs. Just in the past 15 years alone I can think of like 3 spans of times when GR were selling out instantly and instantly reselling for 200+ over retail. And we were there again not to long ago.

Most folks attribute where the sneaker market is today because of lack of hype and a recession but I can’t be the only one seeing how Nike releases have been moving differently. From the color choices they’re releases to the staggered American vs over seas drops.

Combatting reselling is gonna be a hell of a lot easier if they get better control/influence over the market and it seems to me like that’s exactly what’s happening. Even if they have to do it by releasing colorways that won’t set the world on fire and it takes a few years.

Nike should be prioritizing the focus of fakes on their own products rather than a system that monitors who’s a reseller or not.
Nike has been indirectly responsible for creating the entire sneaker reselling industrial complex. So the idea that they're all of a sudden trying to stop resellers from botting is a bad joke.

Hasn't there been speculation that Nike might be considering creating its own reselling platform?

They release shoes in limited numbers...gin up hype and drive all us losers over to their own personal eBay where we have to pay double what the shoes are worth. Seems like there would some type of law preventing such practices, but I don't think there is.

...Nike has no credibility on anything.

These are the best reps so far, people aren’t sure if they’re authentic or just a really good rep:

We already know there are good reps, that’s how people get got, lmao
Of these?

How exactly is that helping? If anything you giving free advertisement. You getting commission for selling these? You aint low.

He ain't low at all 🤣

He couldve just screenshot the pic and crop out all that other stuff... nah, imma show yall where to cop too

Might as well have said use promo code "iTookanL" for 10% off

These days counterfeit manufacturers are everywhere online willing to do and say anything they can to delegitimize authenticity and make their products seem more appealing. Including on this site. I mean why wouldn’t they advertise here

They haven't made fakes that are indistinguishable from authentics.

Fakes are always slightly off, you just have to have a real one to reference.

They are 95% of the way there though.

(don't want to hear all of these other scenarios about why it's impossible to tell because it IS possible to tell)
The point is it continues to exist and it’s trash in our community. There’s no place for fakes ever and the brands should do a better job at coding or creating a database of legit pairs so you can 100% distinguish the reals.

coding or creating a database of legit pairs so you can 100% distinguish the reals.
I would think that would have been done years ago. But that is not easy if former Nike factories can obtain access to those codes. How can you scan a fake shoe and it show up as a Nike product? But still be fake?
