everyone knows that jordan is better than kobe. but no one is ever gonna say that there is any player better than jordan even if that player has better numbers, championships. according to some people on this board jordan is closest thing next to god, and you cant say anything bad about him.

i love jordan just as much as everyone else, but to say greatest ever? no, cause he didnt dominate his sport like gretzky did. it took jordan 6 years for his 1st championship and get kicked out every time before when he made the playoffs. putting up numbers is cool and people can say jordan has all those mvp trophies, but those are also credited towards his teammates and not just individual performances.
Why you edit your post bro?

It CLEARLY said "everyone knows that kobe is better than jordan"

I see that cover up.

This is why I'm incline to bet with Money on this one
yep.

If you watched the game you would know it was a brutal outright chuckfest. Secondly that game took place before the new zone defense rules so it wasn't as THIS ERA as you want to make it seem. Thirdly the game MJ played was no different than how he played before his retirement ..... the big difference is after such a performance, his performance for the next week was outright horrendous (and that's where his bad knees comes into play)

While it's nice to look down on THIS ERA of basketball players without owning up to the fact that this is directly the fault of MJ's legacy ... It's the reason why you have player's like KD who are 6-10 playing a perimeter game ....... why an entire era of big men started playing face up basketball instead of backdown ...... so if MJ played in this era then basketball would be no different that the era he played in except that every wingman would be just as athletic as him and big men like Hakeem, Patrick, Malone and Barkley would have dominated the 90s like decades past

Dudes really mad about something MJ said while promoting a video game, and I know it was only a matter of time before Kobe's name got brought up and chaos/hilarity ensued.

As for his claim, I think it's possible, but not probable that he could do it.

I don't think a player will ever sniff Kobe's 81 points, let alone 100.

Seriously, why care?...

MJ is never going to play another game in the NBA, so all the "what if/could've/would've" discussions are pointless.

Scoring 100 points a game will never happen again. We all know how Wilt got his points in that game against the Knicks.

This man speaks the truth. Noobs take notes.
Certainly... any skilled Big has a MUCH better chance than Jordan at scoring 100 in their prime.

For the last time.. (I mean it)

-Offensive putbacks
-HIGHER than 55% shooting
-SEVERAL FG attempts.
-Free throws.

It's the ONLY way to go north of 85 or so. You may be able to score 50 or even 60 rather consistently with Jordan's game (which is what has you guys misconstrued)... but you'd NEVER go north of 85 without a burner from deep (as a wing player). That's why Kobe has lower lows than Mike but will end his career with slightly more ridiculous feats of bucket-getting (81, 62 in 3 quarters, 40 point streak, 12 threes in a game, etc). Kobe is and outside-in midrange assassin. Mike was an inside-out midrange assasine. They both did most of their work around 16 to 20 feet, but mike always wanted that rack. Kobe's usually looking to heat up and step further back as his jumper starts to warm. So no, you'd probably never even see 75 again from a big for that reason alone.. no jumper.  Well, maybe Dirk could if he REALLY wanted to, but he never will. It ain't in him. And as for 100, it'll never happen again, ESPECIALLY not by a guard, but *if* it did happen, you'd never reach 100 without at least 10 off. rebounds.

David Robinson scored 71 against the Clippers in the last game of the season to win the scoring title. It wasn't spontaneous and his teammates when out their way to make sure he had enough shots to get it.

As great as Jordan was, he couldn't plan on scoring 100 and just go out and do it. If a team averages a little over a hundred points a game then he's gonna have to take most the shots from the start till the end and 1 on 5 isn't going to happen for 48 minutes. There's a reason why most of these high scoring games stop at around 70. That's like the peak and scoring anymore requires more time and meaningless shot attempts in a game that has to be out of contention. It would have to be a gift and require more factors then just a high scorer.

So michael Jordan is up to his foolish talking shenanigans again I see...score 100 points, really? REALLY?

Shows how much you know. Hakeem Olajuwon is more skilled than David Robinson. You will not find a single human being outside of David Robinson's family who thinks the opposite. Yet Hakeem's career high is 52 and David Robinson's is 71.

Derrick Coleman was considered to be a "skilled big man". I guess that means he would have a better shot at 100 than MJ as well according to your dumb logic.

And yet he still took 5 shots less than Kobe in his 81 point game. So if Kobe could take 46 shots in a "spontaneous" game whereas David could only manage to get 41 where his teammates went out of their way to give him every shot possible, what does that say about this era?

I was not insinuating David was better or more skilled than Dream. I just used David as an example..  Now you're just being silly.. you knew what I meant..
