anybody know why the wire season 1 disc 1 has a long wait status? how do movies get that?

never saw the logic behind getting net flix when u can just download HD movies for free.
I buy DVDs to play on a plasma or what not, but if im gonna be getting them through my laptop, i might aswell get them for free.
