Can speak for anyone else, but could I like the album before hearing it?I heard it, and I like it. So what's the issue?

I was inferring that you'd like the album regardless of how it sounded because you've already formulated an opinion on Jay-Z and Kanye's music. Well that & the number of posts you have in this thread, especially the ones taking defensive tones.

The defensive stance is because some dudes in here seem to be getting their panties in a bunch for a bunch of fans enjoying music. I appreciate the people in here who say yet don't like the album without the soapbox about how people who like the album are somehow "wrong" for doing so.

I'm merely pointing out how comical some of the responses are (and I'm not the only one), and its amazing how little exposure to OTHER genre's of music there is on this board.....this production is solid but nothing groundbreaking and/or original. From a hip hop standpoint sure but its been done in other genre's. Its not a swipe people just need to chill.

Not surprised the best produced tracks on this album involve guys like Q-Tip and Pete Rock.

What does this have to do with anyones opinion on the album?

I'm not jocking but maybe you need better speakers or something cause the beats are very well produced and deserves more than "solid"
Because I read comments about this kind of production "never being done before" and acting like all of my sins would be washed away if I listen to this album. I'm knocking the stan-!%! comments not the taste in music.
And not every track is an amazing gem production wise some are really good and some are meh which = solid, and I have good speakers.
smile.gif

God forbid I don't say its 5/5.

this right here
i just don't see how how dudes is looking at this production like it's godly...two of these tracks were basic flips from other genres...and i swear if Gucci Mane had that N in Paris beat dudes would say $$$+ about it
laugh.gif
...it sounded like some Fruity Loops $$$+ until the last couple of seconds...and as for the rhymes, at times it sounded like them dudes were struggling tryin to fit so many words in a bar...and on others they were ridin the beat like amateurs...

the albums cool...but a good listen is all i would give it...it's definitely Ye's worst album and Jay probably got a couple under it...

This post reminds me of when Mike put up a 50 point game and dudes just shrugged it off because they were so use to it.... Is it the best Album ever NO.. Is it a great album thats enjoyable to listen too yes

Thats the problem with music now everyone is so quick to label something and criticize nobody gets a chance to just appreciate.

and the funny part about some of these post are that people who are saying the album isnt that good are in Lil B and OF threads saying that there work is amazing.... NT is a completely different world yo

I swear, I think some of ya'll don't want to admit how overrated this album already is because ya'll don't wanna be disappointed in the hype.

I'm going to give this a more detailed listen later this evening, but man...amazingly average comes to mind right now.

...N's In Paris BANGS, though.
Its not that, its like some of you can't handle a group of people who all like something.

QFT. Dudes in here just trying to be in the minority hating on this, thinking they're on some hip hop elitist #%#*. The people in here talking #$%# about the album probably only listened to like 20 secs of each song and were like this is wack, trying to justify their hate by not even giving it a chance.

With Jay-Z and Kanye West's long-awaited Watch the Throne album finally seeing its release today, Def Jam's Director of Digital Marketing Jycorri Robinson reveals how the rap duo kept their LP from leaking prematurely to the masses.

Citing Jay and West as "tight" with their music, Robinson said both artists made sure to be in-studio together while laying down verses.

"Kanye and Jay are just very tight with the music," he explained in an interview "Even so far as to where they've been, Kanye and Jay have been at every listening session, every event, that there has been and that's because they're holding that music so tight to them. There hasn't been [any] copies floating around the [Def Jam] office 'cause that sh*t is in a vault. They just took it back to the old school, man. They recorded the entire album together; no verses emailed back and forth. It's just tight eyes on it, only one or two people having access to it." (XXL Mag)

A few days ago, Jay's manager John Meneilly promised the LP would not leak.

With less than a week to go before Watch the Throne hits iTunes, don't expect any leaks. Those hoping to get their hands on Jay-Z and Kanye West's collaborative album early are in for disappointment. "It is not going to leak," tweeted a confident John Meneilly, Jay-Z's manager. In order to prevent the album from leaking in advance, digital and physical release dates were staggered. (Rap-Up)

Earlier in the week, Jay said the project's long, drawn out process was to help prevent leaks.

"We made this album, it took eight months. We should be able to release it the way we like without everyone being all up in arms," Jay said in an interview with radio host Angie Martinez. "The real reason behind it is was we didn't want the music to leak. We wanted to present to the people in it's entirety. When you send it out, once it leaves the plant and that's the end of it." (Hot 97)

Anxious fans may now purchase the album through online music retailer iTunes.

Finally, the much-anticipated and oft-delayed Kanye West and Jay-Z collaboration "Watch the Throne" is out. The album, in its standard and deluxe forms, was available on iTunes starting at midnight. Last week news broke that West and Jay-Z had delayed the start of their tour. The first date is now scheduled for Oct. 29 in Atlanta. "Watch the Throne" features many all-star collaborations, including with RZA, Q-Tip and Beyonce, who sings on the single "Lift Off." (CBS News)

It's not that it's never been done before, just that it's production that still isn't widely embraced in hip-hop.

I don't understand how less than 24 hours from when the music was released people are already bickering about "classic" "overhyped" etc. Can you really fully appreciate something in less than 24 hours? I think at least for now most can say that it is an enjoyable record and better than average, good music. I think going in and dissecting the album on whether it is a timeless classic or perfect is a little premature.
