No, the Is didn't have the Free inspired outsole, just the IIs. Nike Free and Nike Considered I think were supposed to be the two new "techs" that they introduced with the IIs, and I vaguely remember reading that the overall shoe itself was somewhat inspired by the Huarache 2K4s, hence the strap. I don't think Kobe was a huge fan of the IIs though cuz he switched off and on to the 2K4s that season. Was the last Ken Link Kobe model before Avar took over on the IIIs.

This is where I have arrived in terms of ball shoes. I never ever wear them casually and it just doesn't make sense to drop 200+ On something I know will get demolished.
