**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

If they do that, might as well eliminate series and just do single elimination games if shiny head Silver wants to bring in some NCAA stuff in the NBA :smh:

Adam Silver talking about a play-in tournament where the 7,8,9,10 seeds would play to get in the playoffs

:wow:

Lmao. Lavar treating the NBA like it’s the WWE.

Didn’t the lakers just list Lonzo as questionable?

Link to Lakers' future salary cap overview:

Anthony Davis, age 26, 2020........

Keep Randle, sign PG, make a respectable go of it in 2019, up and coming, young, strong team, be rid of Deng's full contract by 2020, make a run at AD.

Ball/LAL 19 pick
PG/Hart
Ingram/Clev 18 pick
Randle/Kuzma
AD

GS would be on the tail end, (and a ton of miles) Bron/Wade/Melo/CP3 guys would be on the way out......

You wouldn't have enough room for that because PG's salary and Ingram's cap hold would be too large.

To get Leonard or Davis on this team, they'd have to force a trade to LA & you'd more than likely have to give up Ingram + Kuzma + future pick.

What is the amount of difference? 5 mil, 15 mil?

PG: 30.3 million
BI: 26.3 million
Lonzo: 11 million
Randle: 12 million
Kuzma: 3.6 million
Hart: 3.5 million

that equals 86.7 million
salary cap is 111 million
That leaves 24.3 million in cap space.

If you extend BI early, you can reduce that 26.3, right?

What does AD get in 2020? 30, 35?

He'd get 30.

So I guess if you renounced everybody, got rid of the 2018 Cleveland 1st rounder, 2019 Lakers 1st rounder, 2020 Lakers 1st rounder, any 2nd round pick and got BI to agree to a 20 million dollar year extension, you'd have enough room.

It's hard to sign max free agents in the NBA. You have to hope a superstar is discontent and wants a trade. In the meantime, accumulate valuable trade assets on cheap contracts and hope you can strike. Word to Hinkie and Harden.
