Call me a big hairy wet ***** but I’d be pissed I’d the pelicans ended up with exactly what they wanted in Beal (all star), BI (potential future all star), Kuzma and this years 4th.
Even thought it would be no difference to us since we would still lose the same number of players, it would make me mad that the pelicans who had ZERO ZERO ZERO leverage were able to leak info and make us look like fools all year and now they basically become a BETTER team then they were pre Trade

Would be the first ever trade where the team trading the disgruntled star with no leverage ends up winning the trade

The odds don't mean it's a done deal and that Vegas "knows something". It's a mix of the books protecting themselves in case it does happen and lots of bets being placed on the Lakers to begin with.

Last night most books had them 2nd/3rd. They got bumped up after the Klay injury. Pre KD achilles tear they were hovering around 20-1. After that they got bumped up around 8-1.
For comparisons sake after Bron signed last July Vegas had only Golden State as heavier favorites than the Lakers at 7/2. The money that people put on the Lakers is huge in shifting the odds.
