I've been wanting Olynyk the last couple years. He should be second priority after Kessler if I'm Pelinka.

If nobody wants to take DLo off our hands, Rui is probably the one who has to go.

Raptors have like four proven NBA players right now, so hopefully tonight is a blowout in the Lakers' favor.

Guards who were on the roster in 2022-23:

DLo
Dennis
Westbrook
Nunn
Pippen Jr

Austin
Beasley
Walker
Christie

Now who knows the details of the type of relationship that Pippen had with any of the coaches but if I had to guess no one really paid him any mind because honestly there wasn’t any reason to even care he was there. Good for him for finding his way in the league but it wasn’t going to happen in LA.
Coach was Ham during the time. Ham is now assistant coach for Milwaukee. Pippen Jr. put Dame in prison and is showing he can be a rotation player

You might need to go back and reread what I posted. Lmao I’m just going to ignore those first two sentences since even Stevie Wonder could see what/who Pippen was talking about…

Do you think that in 2022-23 that he was even going to get an opportunity to show that he could play in the league?

If you were coaching the Lakers that season how much would you care about an undrafted, two-way player signed who was a 6’1 guard shooting 30% from the field and 50% from the ft line?

Maybe you think my comment was a defense of Ham… then you would be [Charle Murphy voice] WRONG. No, I just think that from the outside looking in what Pippen said sounded silly. Good for him that he was able to find his way in the league. But the only way Pippen was able to get this opportunity was by going to a bad team (Memphis was awful that season) and being able to play. That was NEVER going to happen in LA.

Was pointing out the relationship Pippen had with the coaches. Not looking to argue about Hams lineup decisions from 2 years ago

Then I wouldn't have got Russ

So you didn’t understand my post.

Yes, we all know who Pippen played for..

No, we don’t know what type of relationship they had. Maybe Pippen was belittled in practice, and made an example of, etc… or maybe he never really paid him any attention because of the circumstances.

None of this we will never know unless he chooses to give us some details. That what I mean by not knowing the DETAILS of their relationship.

“One of the coaches over there didn’t believe in me so I definitely wanted to show I can play some defense.” This was one of the details shared of their relationship from Scotty Pippen Jr.

I know people get horny for drama… but does that sound remotely DETAILED to you?

Cmon man.

That’s detailed enough. You think Scotty gonna go into exact details publicly and throw Ham under the bus like that and tell the world how exactly Ham didn’t believe in him? Scotty is a professional who is trying to make a name for himself in the league, and that’s about as detailed he gonna get in front of the media.

You supposed to already know how to INFER and read between the lines.

Cmon man

If that's even REMOTELY true, that's unacceptable.

Just speculation on my part, I’m probably giving it too much thought…

I’m not sure how long he was with the actual team but he only appeared in 6 games…

At the end of the day he was cut for whatever reason… human nature says you’d probably feel slighted and take it personal. This is kinda a whatever story in my opinion with what limited information we’ve gotten BUT it’s really not that serious to keep talking about I don’t think 😂

He was 21 when we started that year, he played in 6 games, all of them were blowout situations, and his last game came roughly 2 weeks before the Lakers traded Russ.

That team went to the Conference Finals that year, he hadn't showed anything at age 21-22 as opposed to a couple years worth of development later.

He isn't much different than Gary Payton Jr who we had early, didn't invest in developing, and then he went elsewhere and grew into a role.

Losing Caruso as a proven in his prime defensive stopper is way worse than losing Scotty Pippen Jr a just turned 22 year old unproven player.

I can’t be the only one who saw his quote and thought to myself “Lmao no one believed in you bro what are you even talking about” …

But let’s move on.

Pete confirming the top choices were JHS and Bufkin. Bufkin been injured since he got drafted too.

For the record, Bufkin and Clowney were my preferred picks at the time before Whitmore dropped. Liked Jaquez, but was dubious of his fit. Didn't know enough about Podz.
