**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Another loss on AD. Not sure why he was looking for a foul. He would have missed the FTs anyways :smh:

They shoulda played that switch differently

I get not wanting to leave curry open but the one guy you don’t want to take that shot ended up taking the shot lol

Thought they were going to Embiid. I would've rolled a hard double over as soon as touched it. I think Tobias eyes lit up once he saw Bron relent on the switch. Bron came over to help but it looked like he was surprised at how quickly Tobias pulled up. Didn't really contest. Switching with Caruso isn't necessarily a bad thing, but Tobias is the one guy they have who can actually create something going to the basket that far out and he's essentially a pf.

The defense and excution down the stretch was their usual champ level. Gotta clean up the small stuff and they would've won by a couple possessions.

I would've expected Bron to look like AD to start this season. So weird how he looks thus far. Seems like apathy. I get it against the bummy squads but he's not even getting up for the primetime games. Hopefully he snaps out of it after "AllStar" break.

I'd take my chances and give a cold Curry hits a pull up three than give Harris a mismatch with his feet set.

Says a lot about AC tho and how much Bron trusted him on that
He played that pretty well too just too small

Yeah...but Bron can't switch that.

But if this was the finals, he wouldn't have switched it so...like I said. Great comeback, but take the L and move on.

We have yet to see this team play really clicking on all cylinders for an entire game

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, L.A. Lakers

One of the few “bubble stars” whose play has carried over to the new season, KCP was the Lakers’ third-best player in the Finals and has kept that up through the first quarter of this season.

In particular, his shooting has gone to another level. These are outliers from his career numbers, but they’re not hugely surprising either. One of the big mysteries of his career to date has been why he couldn’t produce more than just mid-30s blahness from the perimeter.

Perhaps this is just him belatedly turning the corner at age 27. Caldwell-Pope is shooting a sizzling 50.0 percent from 3 while pushing to join the extremely rare 50-50-90 club: he’s at 52.0 percent from the field overall and 88.9 percent from the line. Sum it all up, and his true shooting percentage is an absurd 70.3.

Also notable is that KCP is letting it rip with much more abandon, pulling the trigger 9.0 times per 100 possessions after being a bit gun-shy (6.4) in the regular season a year ago. Again, that’s carry-over from the 2020 playoffs, when he let it fly 9.7 times per 100.

Throw in his usual solid job at the defensive end, and he’s delivering plus value as a 3-and-D specialist on a contract that, like Hayward’s and Grant’s above, looked a bit rich in the offseason. Moreover, KCP is another plus-minus All-Star, with the Lakers winning his minutes by 20.8 points per 100 — easily the best rate on the team.

I’m not a +\- guy, but I’m pretty sure wes has been a minus guy everytime he out there. He doesn’t do much for this squad...not sure what his role is yet?

3 and D? With no 3 and no D?

I’m not sure if they playing him because they paid him, but he’s definitely hampering caruso and THT’s development....and I mean the guy is in his 30’s with a blown achillies, not sure why vogel is giving him so many minutes over AC and Talen...AC literally do everything wes does just as good if not better.

Been telling y’all about Gasol.

philly was celebrating like they won the lotto last night, we wont forget.

Only took him not being on this team to be able to shoot

sorry *** mofo lol
Here's my theory on that...

If his "Inside the Green Room" podcast is no longer running in Philly, that's the reason why Danny Green is shooting better as a Sixer

Dude couldn't focus on his game with all that L.A. podcasting he was doin
