Rob isn’t doing his job if he’s not at least listening to offers. Thought Trez would be a nice pick and roll partner for Melo, but now that he’s probably out for the season is that something they really want to do now? Harrell is going to help this season but he’s probably not in the long term plans so it makes sense to sniff around.
Speaking of guys who aren’t (or shouldn’t be) in the Lakers long term plans...
THT is going to be a starting 2 guard in the league, definitely by next season. So see if you can move KCP now, maybe get a wing or something like that.

THT needs to improve that jumper and defense to be a starter next to LeBron, AD and presumably Schroder anytime soon. To me he's a lead ball handler off the bench to score buckets.

THT isn't anywhere near ready to start on a title contending team with LeBron and AD. KCP fits his role perfectly as a 3 and D two guard. THT doesn't do either of those things although he's a better ball handler.
This is assuming that we resign THT. He's a free agent the summer as well. KCP has had a rough middle of the season but people forget how well he played at the start of the season. I wouldn't want to trade him when his values at his absolute lowest, he's due for a bounce back and he performed well in the playoffs last year.

Keep in mind that kcp traded now means your selling very low. Unless a team thinks they will get playoff kcp you’re basically trading him for other crap. Best to keep your own crap and have him get out of this slump

I’m saying THT will be a starter next season basing on the assumption that he’s going to continue to improve his game... most importantly the jumper and off ball defense. Lebron will be in year 19, gotta start transitioning to having guys on the roster who aren’t so dependent on him for their production.
