Same thing happened last year
Portland was supposed to be able to run wild on us with Dame & CJ
Houston Harden was supposed to kill us. we had no answer for small ball
Denver was hot
Miami was supposed to be able to clamp us and bam was gonna lock up ad.

Lakers won mostly everything in 5.

You go back in time and it's wild how deep the Lakers were in 2008, then by 2011 it was barebones. But that's the NBA.

The 3 straight Finals runs take their toll, and the switch from Ariza to Artest made us even older, so we lost a lot of "depth" that way. Kobe and Pau were spent by then, and with Bynum not fully healthy and Ariza bein the younger guy, time caught up to us quicker.
