**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Short on time because I'm supposed to be working (👀), and I don't know if this will make sense but here's my thinking:
A move for someone like Darvin Ham means Lebron is the coach.
A move for a veteran coach like Quinn Snyder means that coach is coaching.

Guaranteed if there was no such thing as a salary cap, Bron would be a player-coach like Bill once was

Hindsight.

McDaniels + washed Green > washed Schroeder

Since Russ only has 1 year left they could do much better then the wall trade that was proposed last season.

Whatever is on the table is our last first rounders doe.

Of all those posted trade scenarios posted above, I agree with P give me Gordon and Oubre. If you can do that you at least theoretically address a major need.

1 - Nunn
2 - THT, Reaves
3 - Gordon, Oubre
4 - Lebron, Wenyon, Stanley
5 - Davis

You could also slot Kelly O as your starting 2 guard and bring THT off the bench. Would still need a backup point, a C, and maybe a true PF. Regardless you should have a much easier time signing players at those positions. Maybe use the Taxpayer MLE on Malik, Dennis or partial w GP2 and sign Boogie at the min. Or see what’s up with Laker legend Damion Jones 😂

Added a couple of names and changed the depth chart:
1 - Nunn, Monk, McClung
2 - Oubre, Reaves
3 - Gordon, THT
4 - Lebron, Wenyon, Stanley
5 - Davis, Cousins, Dwight

Bigs: Davis, Plumlee, Gabriel
Wings: LeBron, Hayward, Oubre, Stanley
Guards: Nunn, THT, Reaves

I would target a stretch big (Ibaka?), point guard (Delon Wright?) and a shooter (Svi?) via trades/free agency.

That allows you to shop Plumlee, THT, Nunn and Oubre during the season to upgrade the roster.

Haven’t really messed with the trade machine myself just going off of what’s posted in here. So those three guys Plumlee, Gordon and Oubre fit in the RW contract? Is this with or without picks?

The Lakers can take back up to $57M for Westbrick in a trade. Hayward, Oubre, Plumlee is about $51M.

I don't think the Lakers should give up a pick because Hayward's contract is a year longer and it seems like they just want him off the books already.

Anything with the Hornets, without a 1st rounder works for me. Don't the Lakers have like 4 or 5 2nd rounders within the next 2 or 3 drafts?

****, I would trade THT and the 2027 1st to OKC for Kenny Hustle/Muscala and hopefully Bazely first just so they don't have it for Rustle negotiations.

This is the dream move, again NO PICKS

I think if they go this route, best option in free agency is Pat Connaghton (especially if they hire Darvin Ham). He has a player option and is only slated to make $5.7M next season. The Bucks are likely to cash out on Bobby Portis, so Connaughton could be gettable.
