**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

MIKE LOWERY MIKE LOWERY I hear your point on moving Bron, but I am not saying just randomly trade him to Toronto or somethin.

I'm saying WITH Bron/Klutch, is there a preference he'd like to pursue to chase a 5th ring.

I agree, waking up and he's traded to OKC, bad for biz. But if you work with him to find locale he'd be ok with. Then you aren't harming brand or future endeavours.

Those ungrateful so-called Lakers fans who want to trade STILL-PLAYING-LIKE-PRIME-LeBron better pull their own stinking receipts when the Lakers win another championship in the next 3-5 years with LeBron James.

Thank your lucky stars Bron signed here otherwise LAL has no championship in the last 13 years.

In fact I'll bet anyone here $200 the Lakers get one more chip with Bron before he retires.

Who wants that bet?

unless lebron demands a trade

oh god were doomed

I'll be clear. I think the Lakers do make a move. Probably a small one since no one seems to like Rob Pelinka and the rest of the league seems to like seeing the Lakers living in anguish.

AND, I don't think they move on from Bron/AD unless they ask for it directly, which they shouldn't if a move is made. I don't think Jeanie is that stupid (unless she's still taking orders from Phil :smh: )

When they traded Shaq back in 04, I was pissed. I was a teenager who had watched him since I was a little kid and had that blind fanhood going. Shaq was my favorite player growing up. It was **** the Lakers and **** Kobe back then. I got older and stopped taking it that serious. ***** dropped 81 and I was hoping he got 101. I was hot he clowned Shaq in the press conference after his 5th. Now it's kinda funny really. He who laughs last kinda way.

But from 04-07 they sucked with Kobe and then 08 Gasol trade they're back. But what did you have? Jerry Buss, Jerry West Mitch (Jerry had something to do with Pau to LAL ) and they brought Phil back. That's a basketball knowledge base with a guy who's willing to spend. If that was the case now, sure you could take your chances moving on from Klutch. Foolish, but they'd have a chance to bounce back.

Now with Jeanie, Linda, Kurt and ROB PELINKA? Nah. Klutch the best chance you got bruh. 🤷‍♂️

Which is why I would obliterate the whole lot.

Pelinka, Rambii, Jeanie can all go. Sell to a super billionaire who will take the legacy franchise and spend as they should, luxury tax be damned. Zero reason we should ever be hindered by revenue concerns like we're Memphis or some sh**

Jeanie will NEVER sell. Even James Dolan, the most clueless owner in the NBA hasn't sold his hapless franchise so why would Jeanie lol

Guaranteed Dr. Buss told Jeanie to never sell the Lakers unless it was to Kobe

Either way you slice it, we are screwed. Current FO won't/can't make the right moves, AD stays hurt and Bron (while still playing incredible) is getting older.

That’s the ****** thing in all this. If they had a competent front office, you say F them picks and make some moves to improve the team now and do so with confidence you’re going to get immediate results, while also having equal confidence those future picks are going to be late first round picks.

My thing in all this is he can be traded without there being bad blood or hostility on either side. If he requests a trade, he’s not getting traded to Sacramento or OKC, and he’s likely going to have a say in where he’s traded to.

In a sense that’s doing right by him if he wants to play on a team capable of contending, and the Lakers front office lacks the capability to offer that.

I wanna see House party.

I attended a House Party like this at an Aubrey owned property back in 2012.

So this movie is that, but at Lebron's house.

Kelly Oubre is out tonight. As well as Cody and DSJ still.

Better see some damn urgency.

There's one faction on the Lakers I trust, it ain't Jeanie's brain trust, it ain't Klutch cause they've both had tremendous hands and missteps leading to the position we're in today. It's Joey and Jesse, they know back, they know how to scout. Which is another reason why mortgaging the future would be asinine.

Bro these guys don’t know **** about basketball, just like all the other siblings

They were all born on 3rd base, they didn’t have to grind or really learn the game to be in their position..

If you wanna see change, they just need to sell the team to someone that’ll hire smart and qualified executives.

You're wrong but sure

Joey and Jesse will eventually have more say in the decision making. Gotta be patient because they're rising and undergoing "GM training" atm

the problem right now however is that Magic said there's too many people at the table making decisions.

That's all that I needed to know to understand what's really going on in the executive office.

Jeanie isn't Dr. Buss therefore she doesn't command the same respect and i wont hold it against her, she just doesnt have the basketball vision her dad had. Which is why she entrusts Kurt and Linda on that side of things.

Jeanie would probably want Joey and Jesse to play GM but they likely aren't as savvy with cap management and all the other things a GM would need to be well versed in to be successful at the job. Hence the hiring of Pelinka.

So we got Jeanie consulting with Kurt, Rob, Magic, Phil, and Linda....all of them having a say in key basketball decisions when ultimately it should be only Rob and Jeanie's call - only them two, nobody else - just like it was Dr. Buss and Jerry West's call and only theirs.

It's an unenviable position for Pelinka cause imo he truly isn't the sole decision maker.

Pelinka will be the scapegoat if the Bron-AD experiment fails to capture another title.

Ryan West could've been an asset and was being groomed to be a future GM but he joined the Pistons front office in 2020.

Joey and/or Jesse Buss is who I think will eventually have more power in the Lakers' future decision making when it comes to player personnel, which is another reason I don't believe Jeanie will ever sell.

Dr. Buss likely gave his vision for the long term future of the team to Jeanie before he died, and Jeanie, Joey, and Jesse are the keepers of this vision.
