**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

For some damn reason every team gets crazy hot playing the Lakers. 54% from fkin 3?! Absurb. Looks like they can make their shots w eyes closed, let alone try to defend it smh

At this point I don’t wanna hear **** about the 6th seed lol. Realistic option is the play-in and hopefully getting the 8th seed.

Let us not forget, 2 Laker starters are missing: LeBamba

The Lakers three-point shooting careers continues. Guys put on the purple and gold and forget how to shoot

The middle part of the rotation just isn’t good.

The 4-7 guys in the rotation are a collective meh.

AD and DLo are legit starters. Nobody else on the roster is (when Bron is out)

We went from "we got a squad now and we're 9 deep" on Saturday to "We only have three starter level players on the roster" on Tuesday. Cold world

Eubanks, Watford, Jabari Walker, etc… I’ve legit never even heard of these guys yet AD is going to finish with 19 points on 18 shots while being defended by these dudes.

Dennis w/ 2 points, Rui w/8… not really trying to hear about what Ham didn’t do tonight. Players didn’t show up, see ya Wednesday

you come in and play soft drop coverage on dame and basically let him get guarded by one person
10 3s in the first qtr
no timeouts after a 17-2 run
no adjustments after that blitz of a qtr lol

I never said they were a squad.

The difference isn't that there isn't quality players. There just isn't the players who fill in 2 starter spots.

Team went from top heavy, which is worse. To a doughnut hole (Good at the front of the rotation, good at the back of the rotation, but the middle of the rotation isn't there), and if you're missing someone from the front end, you suffer for it.

Pretty sure 90% of us were being facetious when we said “we had a squad” lol

If you were to map out a roster and say we need guys to fit 1-10 importance of the roster
You can have 1,2 and 3 or 4 with Bron, AD, DLo.

But with the rest of the roster Beasley, Vando, Rui, Schroder, Reevs, Lonnie, Bamba are like 7-10 guys.

The bright side is the Lakers have 2023 1st, Beasley's $16mil, Bamba's $10mil, Rui as a RFA at $8mil, 2029 first, Reed $2mil and some seconds, and whatever exception they end up with to figure out the 2 starting spots, and a bench spot

Thybulle - career 32% shooter, 4 threes
Watford - career 33% shooter, 2 threes
Little - career 33% shooter, 3 threes
Sharpe - rookie 34% shooter, 3 threes

These guys combined to shoot 12/18, 66% from three tonight… and these are all guys the defense can live with taking those shots. Gonna be a long night if they’re hitting em but I think if you draw up a scheme and say what type of shots do you want to force Portland to take it would probably be guys like Thybulle shooting 3’s…tonight he just happened to make them.

When the stars show up there is no answer for them…look at Dame tonight. Can’t guard him 1 on 1, the Lakers frontcourt guys weren’t quick enough to switch on perimeter, trap him and he’s moving the ball they swing it to guys who were knocking down shots, and he’s pulling up over the drop coverage.

And when the stars don’t show up…well, I guess it’s okay because they helped them team win a title a few years ago.

🤷🏾‍♂️
