**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Damn we really gotta keep Beasley and Bamba next season and beyond because of the garbage CBA. :lol

1. How?
2.They were most likely going to keep them anyway?
3.The new structure is going to be eased in over the next few seasons so it's not immediate
I think there was a world where they were gonna get traded with the 2023 pick to get a more proven contributor. Obviously gotta wait for more CBA details, but there will be a big emphasis on re-signing guys with Bird Rights since they will eliminate the TMLE in a year or two.

I mean it can (if allowed?), but I think I'd be more hesitant with the new rules. But maybe they go for broke with a two year window? Seems un-wise because picks are gonna be even more important.
Hesitant why? I'm legit tryna wrap my head around this  . I don't think they'd trade the 23 pick because this might be an ok draft. You never really could take in more salary than you send out if you're over the cap so I don't get that part either. But what's stopping them from moving Beas and a future first or seconds for another fake shooter on a similar deal

I think depth (in this case Beasley/Bamba) will be key moving forward because the rules will chip away when other guys are up.

This might be a unique case though since this team got a two year window at most anyways.

The magic number to guarantee finishing ahead of the Mavs and Jazz is 3.
Any combination of 3 Lakers wins or Mavs losses. And 3 Lakers wins or Jazz losses get the Lakers into the play-in

Sunday’s Games:
Lakers over Rockets in HOU
Nets over Jazz in BK
Blazers over Wolves in MIN
Hawks over Mavs in ATL
Suns over Thunder in OKC
Nuggets over Warriors in DEN

TMLE eliminated for teams that are at 173 mill in spending

This year that’s only 4 teams. Out of 30 teams.

13% of the league.

Don’t panic.

CBA helps lakers bc we were never gonna be spending that much anyways
