**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Good lord JHS.

Passing on Cam Whitmore might have been the biggest draft mistake we have made in a long time.

Our FO has done a great job at identifying talent but man....I know he had some sort of issue but we should have rolled the dice on that.

Way too early. Look at D'lo now compared to his first preseason. Max Lewis played as well as Cam did last game

Probably means nothing lol but after 3 preseason games, Jaxson Hayes is shooting a perfect 1.000% from the field and had.....

vs GSW - 2nd highest plus-minus on the team (+7)

vs BKN - 2nd highest plus-minus on the team (+12)

vs SAC - highest plus-minus on the team (+14)
👀
Meanwhile, Christian Wood is averaging just under 10 pts, 5 rebs, and a steal per game in 20 min of play, which is just the right amount of offensive production for a big man off the bench when AD takes a breather.

There's really no bad players in the rotation. Max probably the worst and he'll figure it out soon enough. Kinda reminds me of the Warriors last championship how they just replaced all their trash players with neutral or better guys

Prince might be best fit to play with starters. Can guard 2-4 (smaller 4s), decent 3p%, vet who knows what-to-do, where to be, junkyard dog who will hustle and defend

Vando is better defensively, but can’t finish around the rim or knock down 3s consistently. Rui better in a vacuum overall, but might not get the touches he wants/needs in 1st unit with other mouths to feed.

AD commented was nice change playing at PF since he’s not in pick in roll coverages constantly. Important to “save” AD and let Jaxson take on those coverage when possible IMO

yeah only one I’m not really keen on is Reddish but in fairness he’s yet to play much

Only worry about Prince is he's getting bodied on defense a bit so far. Against the physical wings in the league, they're going to go through him easier compared to Rui and Vando.

But the fit on offense seems to be rather seamless for him. I would expect him to be a 40%+ three point shooter playing off the other four starters.

Good problem to have, but having those 3 starting capable guys is the main reason I feel like there's some kind of consolidation coming.

Even though, I'm liking what I've seen thus far from all 3 in limited minutes. Really everybody who's played thus far (sans JHS). I personally would keep starting Vando, but I think it'll end up being Prince now. Rui still makes the most sense backing up Bron and getting all the shots he wants with the 2nd unit. Vando doesn't need touches so he can do whatever, but he can play next to Rui off the bench. Then you have to figure out C. Wood and Hayes minutes as they both look very playable early as well.

Hopefully get back to Bron's old rotations and pull him halfway through the 1st giving extended minutes to Vando/Rui and giving him more rest this year. The depth should be a game changer compared to these last two seasons with him dragging *** at different points trying to put up 30 to keep em afloat.

Jerami Grant is going to be a topic of discussion until guys are trade eligible.
