**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Hayes the 🤡 played 21 min, went 5-for-5 from the field with 10 pts, grabbed 3 boards, had one block, and was plus-14 for the Lakers.

Active. With a lot of energy. Against a playoff team playing a lot of 2-Big lineups.

Meanwhile, a look at the inactives list lol...

I noticed this last night :lol

Even if that first one was on target I still dont think they execute cuz 25 is looking at AD waiting for Bron to throw it, where 4 on the cavs is sleeping.

That lob play vs the Mavs looks bad because of the help on the back side.

If he kicked in the corner for the 3 and guy misses probably a different reaction.

The turnover looked so bad...but really the 3 prior to that turn over was the biggest thing.

But we won yesterday so time to move on.

Like Max as a better point of attack defender than Gabe Vincent. Gabe is feisty, but just small. When this team is fully healthy, I'm thinking Gabe should be odd-man out. Playing DLo, Gabe, AR meaningful minutes makes us smaller at the guard positions and more of a target. Not Gabes fault, but need the play-making DLo/AR provide.

I posted a link to the 2 minute report where the league said he was in the paint longer than 2 seconds so that was actually a missed illegal defense call.

AD shot chart last night.

We already know how AD needs to be utilized so he is most effective.

What would Magic do if he played with AD? Bron gotta be Magic again and run the point so he can get AD the ball in spots where AD can just catch n shoot or be on the receiving end of a pass in the paint that leads directly to a score using one dribble or less.

DLo and AR can combine to play the Rondo and Caruso roles. Christie can go ahead and handle the KCP role. Reddish and Prince can be Danny Green and Avery Bradley while Hachimura can play Kuzma's part. Vando is a way more athletic Kieff but can't shoot a lick. Hayes and Wood can do their darn best to fulfill the Javale and Dwight roles for 15-20 min per game each.

The pieces are there so it seems. All these new Lakers gotta do now is execute.

AD “Coach actually called some plays for me down the stretch” … because normally down the stretch the offense is going to go through LeBron or Austin. And for the most part LeBron has been great this season in the clutch. Love Rob and Worrhy but their commentary sounds like every old school player…Lakers should be dumping the ball to AD in the post all game long like how we used to with Dream and Kareem 😂

IDK know about running the offense through him but there's been SEVERAL games dating back to Vogel days where there's minutes of gametime Where AD doesn't touch the ball or when he does it's on an island 20 ft from the basket expecting him to be KD.

Team has a habit of Icing him out, knowing already that he isn't really the type who's gonna demand it or force offense. it's counter productive

My comment was about the Horry post and end of game situations… sounds like you’re just talking about AD’s general role in the offense.

Exactly.

AD don't have to be the focal point of the offense. But you can't have him only shooting the ball 2 times in the 4th either lol.

It's key for AR and DLo to have enough situational awareness in the 4th to play the game the way a Rajon Rondo or a Derek Fisher wouldve played the game if they had AD on the floor with em.

AD is not a playmaker. He needs the ball in spots where he can go up and score with minimal dribbling. He needs to be able to catch and shoot off a pick n pop or receive or dump off passes in the lane so he can use his length to just go up and shoot over people. Amd of course the occasional post up when there's a glaring mismatch. Point is, Lakers have a variety of way to maximize AD on offense.

He not Kareem. He not even James Worhy cause Big Game had that lightning first step off the dribble whether in the post or facing you up one on one. AD don't got that cause going one on one is not his game
