More I look, the more Christie and Knecht would have to be attached to Gabe and one in a separate deal if they want to make moves that genuinely make the team better, as opposed to a move for moves sake.

-AR isn’t getting traded.
-Every DLo trade has been for a worse player, Lakers also have to add a first to it, and every linked player to DLo plays forward. Which either requires Rui or Vando out at some point as well or there’s a huge crunch at the 3/4, and AD will not play a single minute at the 4. Which who knows if they want that or not. But it removes the possibility if Rui or Vando don’t get moved as well.
-Rui seems to only be available for Grant and that trade sucks because it’s either Gabe & Rui with both pick, or DLo & Rui and having to track down a 3rd team, which from a talent perspective is awful.
-Vando shouldn’t be traded unless you get an similarly disruptive defender who can rebound while also improving the offensive ceiling Vando creates.

Worst thing they could do is make a move for move’s sake and send out a first with Rui or DLo for a Cam Johnson or Dorian Finney-Smith.

DLo: Stop trying to be the QB on defense when he's off-ball. Bron & AD are there, and that's what they get paid for. Most of the guys who play with him talk about the amount of film he watches, and his ability to call out the set that the other team is running and what the primary lead is (an example of this was the Bucks game where Spence made the game winning defensive play). The downside is he has a propensity to fall asleep while trying to call out everything. He has to place more focus on staying with his guy off ball and anticipating the plays they will run for his man, and how to either attack it or just stay with the guy.
Going after the ball when the shot is in the air on defense.

AR: Navigating screens. Moving laterally and not crossing his legs over.

Rui: Using his body to try and deny the initial drive. More importantly rebounding. He isn't going to be Charles Barkley out there, but with the level of physicality he plays on offense when he has a smaller guy on him, needs to translate in a constructive way to defense. Man got all them shoulders for nothing on defense.


Lakers had a stretch with all these guys playing heavy minutes where they were good defensively. as a team Also had stretches where they were bad. When they are bad, a lot of times you'll see they don't attack the boards, allow a second chance and just end up out of position.
Nuggets series is a prime example, the forwards were not matching their forwards in rebounds (A little bit Bron, but mainly Rui). AG & MPJ 18 RPG. Bron & Rui 10 RPG. Not the only reason they lost, but 8 RPG and losing Game 2,3 & 5 by a total of 11 points has to matter to some extent. AR to some extent and DLo to more extent could have helped by going to a spot when the ball is in the air.

AR need to fill his frame out, he wont get bumped around so much and he'd have the ability to funnel/force guys to go one way or the other easier

that would be the next level for him

He already has the motor and effort.

He's also guarding the best 2's and 3's almost every night, so don't expect him to shut down ALL WORLD guards, just has to make it tough for them.
