The Lakers are one of the bottom three teams in the conference, Kyrie Irving alone isn't going to fix that. We're not winning a title this year regardless. Kyrie will certainly make us better in the short term and he may be the difference between not making the playoffs and potentially being the 5-6 seed but this roster isn't built to an a championship.

Last night we didn't lose because we lacked a shot maker in the fourth quarter, we lost because we have no wind defenders and Kyrie won't help us with that problem.

There's more to it tho.

It removes Russ stuff. Like the airballed 8 footer, or the sideways shots off the top of the backboard, or the ridiculous meaningless turnovers, or the fact players guard him from the paint while he's behind the 3 point line........

That all goes away. That don't happen with Kyrie.

Then maybe it reenergizes Bron/AD with some hope and Rui gets more comfortable and Reeves comes back and then you have somethin to work with. Better spacing, Kyrie doesn't have to come off the bench so maybe minutes stagger differently. (Bron-AD)

Objectively, the Dallas package is more appealing than what we had to offer. All we had to offer was a player that Brooklyn clearly didn't want and picks. Now at least Brooklyn is getting some decent players back and an unprotected first round pick. Going to be interesting to see how the remainder of the season goes in Dallas and if the Mavericks are willing to give Kyrie a big contract in the offseason.
