This is an often overlooked key element of a successful team, and I think I've said this in here before. Establishing a culture/identity is so crucial. Like when you look at the schedule one night, you see that you're playing a bruising team, then the next night is a team that shoots 3 after 3 after 3, then the next night is a team that runs all night.
I agree with what you’re saying… BUT I would add that there has to be alignment with the GM and coach on style of play/system and the type of players that fit the mold. Everything really changed after the RW trade and not to relive the past but there hasn’t really been an alignment since. I THINK that Ham at least had a defensive minded approach but doesn’t matter if 80% of the guys on the roster can’t guard a chair. So far JJ has at least said all the right talking points… we’re going to do X,Y,Z on offense but wake me up when he has an answer to any of the defensive issues that last year’s team had to overcome.This is an often overlooked key element of a successful team, and I think I've said this in here before. Teams look at us and have no idea who they're playing; I mean, unless dysfunctional is an identity.
I like seeing that establishing a culture/ identity is a focus. Like we really are at ground level.
