regardless of this season's roster and injuries, Dantoni coached exactly the same way last year. we kept losing every single game exactly the same way. run, get a decent lead in the first half and then get blown out in the second half because our team was too old to run all day. we didn't start winning until the team basically turned on him and started doing their own thing. the only reason he wasn't fired is because of the backlash it would have caused after firing mike brown and jerking Phil. he was basically forced to add Rambis to his coaching staff this year after being forced to change his offense last year. but MDA has done all the same things that caused brown to get fired in terms of not playing to the teams' strengths, not budging on his philosophy and doing a poor job of managing egos.

a perfect example of MDA's coaching prowess is the way he has handled Pau. say what you want but he is probably the easiest big name player to manage next to Tim Duncan and he has clashed with MDA almost from day one. it really caught me off guard last year with the things Pau would say and his attitude towards Mike, like wow he finally grew some balls :lol . Phil knew how to needle players and get the best out of them. he was a real *** hole. MDA is just a sarcastic jackass who mistakenly thinks he's an *** hole but players don't respond to him like that, he mostly just gets on their nerves.

I'm not in agreement with any Carmelo Anthony opinions that favor him becoming a Los Angeles Laker.

But that doesn't stop me from reading and trying to comprehend the rest of their posts if they genuinely attempt to back up their opinion with valid reasoning.

when this picture was posted on NT before the season started literally no one knew who any of these guys were, a group of draft busts that we threw together so we had enough players to start the season. dantoni took this group of unwanted no names to a 10-9 record vs other nba teams before kobe came back and everyone started getting hurt.

people were talking about if kobe comes back healthy we have a shot at winning a title this year, thats how good they were looking. there are not many coaches in the league that could have pulled off what dantoni did, if brian shaw had the exact same season as dantoni has this year people would be saying things like "oh hes so unlucky that all his guys are hurt" "once people get back we will look great again" but since its dantoni he cant make adjustments and doesnt care about defense.

I have done this to my monitor SOOOOOO many times before responding to CP.

And I am 101% positive he has done the same, but w/ a Mountain Dew.

Last year was a nightmare, and not (solely) because of Mike's decisions. You make some good points but I can't put the blame all on Mike for everything that went wrong when there was also someone named Dwight Howard in the locker room :lol Even the Pau beef. Some of that falls on Pau, his injuries, Dwight, and Mitch too.

I also don't agree with his coaching this year being the same as last year. Whereas last year was a struggle of finding things that worked and egos stepping on each other at 2004 proportions, this year was actually fun and enjoyable for the guys. They were in a groove, even after the first few injuries. I'm not going to credit Mike for that entirely, but it's certainly not a blemish on his resume.

shaw seems like a likable guy tho :\ . honestly I like what this team could be with Dantoni but he's still very flawed

I definitely don't put it all on Mike. it's one thing to not get Pau to stop playing like a vagina but to get to the point where Pau Gasol of all people is talking **** about you every chance he gets? that takes a real jackass. if you look you can find quotes from all 5 starters saying more or less that the team wasn't being coached right

BTW, E loses a point for not listing X in his OG post.

I just noticed that.

I now give that post a 9.8 instead of a 10.

Expect better E. :{

Chance he plays tomorrow.. If not, there's a chance he plays the game after which is the start of the Grammy trip

The latest "report" says that Kevin Love could lean towards signing with the Lakers or Knicks next summer.

The point being not to get everyone excited (just more "sources say"), but to remind everyone the Lakers should use this summer and the remaining cap space to build a good supporting cast for all the future free agents. If it were this summer I'm not sure any star would look at the Lakers and see a foundation, despite how well the guys banded together when healthy.

Luckily rookie deals are fixed and cheap :smokin

No sir. He's shut down, he had soreness in his knee today. Back on non weight bearing work.

Wasn't news when I posted.

Let me bask in my troll glory

I'll never forget this picture. It pretty much formulates our season; Kobe's face = "Where's Ashton?"

My man, again, I am not speaking on his Melo should be a Laker points.

I am telling you, that same man, claimed that Carmelo Anthony, was a solid defensive basketball player.

Now, you are trying to tell me that you back his claims/points on defense, when to him, Melo is someone he likes as a defensive type of player. For his "full court defending" of LeBron.

I feel like you need an example.

You know how we all clown Kobe for sucking on defense the last 3-4 years? Laker fans all are aware of this, yes? His defensive rating is STILL, HIGHER THAN CARMELO ANTHONY'S IN HIS DAMN PRIME...............................................................................

I shall repeat. Kobe Bryant's old, lazy *** defense, STILL, rates HIGHER, than Carmelo Anthony, IN HIS PRIME.

2.6 in 2012-13 for Kobe age 34
2.0 in 2012-13 for Melo age 28

The person that you and Ska are trying to claim makes "valid points" somehow claims that Melo's defense is worthy of something.

He hypes Bruce Bowen, I'll listen to him. Wanna talk about GP was a machine on defense, I'll hear him. Props up Carmelo Anthony as a defensive talent he'd like to acquire, get the **** out of my damn face.

So yeah, you guys go ahead and listen to the man. "valid points"

I'ma be over here, talkin to my wall.

I made a thousand Melo post speaking of his offensive style complementing Kobe's (In DETAIL, OFFENSIVE SETS AND ALL) but all I said Melo was a decent defender? :{ :{ :{

Ima just let those that no nothing about basketball (emphasis on this part) continue to lie, post like they geniuses, rehash stats that don't eem mean anything, and pretend like they knew this and that would happen all along like they been doing.

Same dudes in here now fapping MDA's system was just livid and wanted dude fired last season.

I reiterate, my gripe with MDA has been his choice of style of play with an already banged up roster. A good coach makes adjustments, if not for the defensive purposes at least for the health of the guys playing for you.

2 seasons, a million injuries. This season with a YOUNG roster it's not a coincidence b

I think we should use all of our cap. All backup plans which we can use to S&T with TWolves next season or during FA. Best way to build a supporting cast. If we one year everyone then we use all our cap on 4 players with no bench when Love is a FA, you are stuck building after the fact.

Not worth that trade. Unless it's a first rounder at this point they'll be buried on the bench for years to come.

Meeks could contribute for a few more years.

The overvaluing of Pau by the front office is going to lead to Kaman and Hill getting dealt at the deadline. I hope not in Hill's case (though I think he'll be leaving in the summer anyways).
