bringing up a very valid point of view and I think most people who are pro civil rights / racial equality should be able to understand or be moved by, no matter what race you are.
I should add that my father has told me about his second grade teacher referring to him as ****** in class and really caring less if he was there or not. Could one blame him if he didnt continue to value education and work hard to make something of himself through an institution that allows such hatred? How do the institutional values of education and justice get passed on to younger generations when the systems were broken and abusive to most of our parents and grandparents?
The fact people want to bring black racism and reverse racism into threads about white racism is tantamount to justifying the latter or at least downplaying or rationalizing it and its really a slap in the face to folks with real experiences and hinderances with racism who are just trying to draw attention to the struggle, not compare offensive or stereotypical soundbites and argue semantics.
A white billionaire who is likely guilty of housing and employment discrimination over a number of decades is not the same as dave chappele making racist jokes or some loudmouth athlete spouting off. No one is trying to argue a poor racist is better than a rich racist, in a perfect world none of n it should be tolerated. I think everyone gets that.
A little acknowledgement that people like Sterling are affecting the progression of blacks and their quality of living on a microscopic level at least and that surely 20, 30, 40 years ago when a lot of our parents were trying to strive for success and provide for their new families theses types of view were more prevalent with macroscopic effects. We should be debating if income inequality and the racial gap in education and quality of life can be tied to the prevalence these attitudes now and in prior generations moreso than whether sterlings comments were more offensive than mayweathers for instance. Or more unacceptable, or more racist, or more wrong, or blah blah blah
