You sir completely missed my point.
Reread what I said. And then go argue with someone who is actually arguing.
My bad. I quoted the wrong dude.

Now with Mr. LeBron James, his career is on the upswing, and when he is done, people aren't going to talk about Kobe at all, as he will be, as he already is, an afterthought.
This was a great series, and LeBron rose to the occasion, when not many felt that he could.
Kobe Bryant was not missed for one minute. In fact, with the cohesive play exemplified by both teams, that one on three stuff that Kobe Bryant is a master of, may begin to be looked down upon by even the most elementary of fans..,outside of L.A of course.
...Kobe took a step back letting Shaq dominate them.
...
If Kobe was on a team with MJ Magic Kareem and Bird, Kobe still wouldn't be taking a step back for NOBODY.
Agree that they both equally needed each other though.
Please don't bring up missed shots when you're against another player in favor of Kobe.kobe> Lebron. how many shots did lebron missand lets not forget he wines to the ref for every call.
i remember watching those games man . tha'ts when they dubbed him "the giant killer"...damn, brings back memories, im gonna miss watching him play when hes goneone of Kobe many 40 points game in the playoff against prime Duncan Spurs
and
against the Kings.
West Conference playoffs (where Lakers faced their BY FAR the toughest competition):
Kobe (11g): 31.6 PTS (.577 TS%), 7.0 REB, 6.2 AST, 1.6 STL, 0.5 BLK, 3.0 TOV
Shaq (11g): 29.3 PTS (.558 TS%), 15.3 REB, 2.5 AST, 0.5 STL, 1.9 BLK, 3.4 TOV
The NBA finals where Lakers faced a pathetic team that would be eliminated in second round of West conference playoffs:
Kobe ( 5g): 24.6 PTS (.501 TS%), 7.8 REB, 5.8 AST, 1.4 STL, 1.4 BLK, 3.6 TOV
Shaq ( 5g): 33.0 PTS (.575 TS%), 15.8 REB, 4.8 AST, 0.4 STL, 3.4 BLK, 4.0 TOV
Yes, Shaq DOMINATED the Finals against non-existent front court of 76'ers, and Kobe took a step back letting Shaq dominate them.
They give the Finals MVP award based on contribution in the Finals only, not throughout the playoffs, where Kobe was the obvious the MVP.
now go ahead and tell me that Shaq didn't need Kobe and Kobe didn't need Shaq. They were equal easily.
I guess I forgot about all those clutch free throws, Shaq made in the clutch
Don't forget
Kobe had to played against perimeter defenders like Bruce Bowen, Raja Bell, Dough Christie, an old but still good Pippen, Steve Smith, Bonzie Well, Antonio Mcdaniel, Kerry Kittle, prime Jason Kidd, prime Richard Jefferson, Malik Rose, etc and more
While Shaq was being checked by inferior defenders like Todd MacCulough, Vlade Divac, Scott Pollard, Matt Gieger, Jason Collin, Rik Smith, old Mutumbo, Dale Davis, Sabonis, Daleth Shremp, Brian Scalebrine and Keith Van Horn
Also don't forget Kobe was asked by Phil not only to score and being a facilitator but also guard the other team best perimeter player.
im sorry but shaq and kobe weren't equals during those seasons. 2000-02. anything beyond that where shaq was hurt and out of shape and unmotivated i can see but 2000 was about 80% shaq 20% kobe while 01 and 02 were about 60-65% shaq and 35-40% kobe.
and lmao at comparing the 2000 pacers to the 2001 76ers and 02 nets. the 2000 pacers were a legit contender and were going against a laker team that hadn't gotten over the hump yet. the lakers won that series in 6, but having remembered watching that series, that was a closer series then people give indiana credit for. people forget an almost similar pacers team pushed the michael jordan led bulls to the limit just 2 years prior. had indiana played portland in 2000, im confident they would've beat that blazers team.
Unfortunately there are a lot of 90s born kids in here.

Not equal in terms of players or what they did, but equally needing each other.@ Shaq and Kobe being equal during those threepeat seasons
Didnt kobes agent pretty much say he wasnt playing for anybody accept the lakers while he was being drafted? so the HORNETS drafted him for trade bait or either were gonna force him to play. Kinda selfish if you ask me.
Eli did pretty much same thing.Didnt kobes agent pretty much say he wasnt playing for anybody accept the lakers while he was being drafted? so the HORNETS drafted him for trade bait or either were gonna force him to play. Kinda selfish if you ask me.
