Shoulder shrug

Im gonna need the gif

Amare don't play defense but he seems like a good person. :smokin

Dantoni was a huge part of the problem, but I think melo was way more hurt than we thought. Which is why he finished the season so well

I'm so damn upset about shump. We need him in the playoffs desperately. But I don't wanna rush him back. I dunno man it's a tough decision. :{

Wait, what's going on with Shump?

On another note. Read this and thought it was interesting.

Filling out the Knicks' roster

The Knicks can add as many players as they want during the offseason. But by the time the season starts, they're allowed a maximum of 15 players on the roster.

They currently have 13 players with guaranteed deals.

With the recent signings of Chris Copeland and Chris Smith, there seems to be a little bit of confusion regarding roster numbers.

Neither deal is fully guaranteed (Copeland's is non-guaranteed and Smith's, according to Newsday, is a two-year deal that is partially guaranteed).

As such, both players can be cut with little financial penalty to the Knicks.

With 13 players inked to guaranteed deals, the Knicks can add two more guaranteed contracts before getting to the max of 15 players on the roster.

Common belief is that they will use one spot to add a reserve big man, most likely a power forward.

Let's take a look at four candidates:

Martin
Kenyon Martin: The 12-year vet flirted with New York last season before signing with the Clippers following a rough stint in China during the lockout.

In 42 games with the Clips, Martin averaged five points and four rebounds in 22 minutes. He'd be another veteran presence in the locker room and played with Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith in Denver.

But the key here is, would Martin accept the veteran's minimum, which is all the Knicks can offer?

Amundson
Lou Amundson: The Pacers bruiser really hurt the Knicks at times last season, getting loose balls and rebounds near the rim by outworking the New York bigs. Surely, Mike Woodson was looking at that and thinking what it would be like to have him on his own bench.

The problem, as with Martin, is whether Amundson would accept the veteran's minimum. Several teams have reportedly expressed interest in the reserve big man.

Blatche
Andray Blatche: Blatche was amnestied by the Wizards and cleared waivers, which means teams over the cap (re: the Knicks) can bid on him. Blatche was scheduled to make $7.1 million this season, most of which he will earn from the Wizards, so, maybe he wouldn't mind making the veteran's minimum from the Knicks.

White
D.J. White: The Bobcats did not extend White during the season, making him a free agent. The 6-9 big man will be 26 at the end of the month and was productive in limited minutes in Charlotte last year. Don't discount the Hoosiers factor. Woodson and Glen Grunwald, like White, went to Indiana.

Question: Who would you go after to fill the roster spot? Blatche? Martin? Anyone else?

Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

With the way we've been signing players, I wouldn't be surprised if we signed Martin for the low. We're already notoriously getting known as signing former Nuggets players. Martin would be the icing on the cake :lol

Wait, what's going on with Shump?

what do you mean whats going on with shump? :eek :lol

did you watch the playoffs? lol

I saw him getting hurt, but the way you guys are talking about it seems like he got a setback in his rehab or something. Is he on schedule with his recovery or did something else happen?

Shump needs to recovery to as close to 100% as possible. We have enough players at the 2 to hold us over till he gets back. Brewer was a MAJOR pick up for us. Great defensive player.

For those scoring at home, Carmelo Anthony dropped 53 points on 19-of-22 shooting in 26 minutes over the last 2 games for @USAbasketball.

What irritates me the most is, Melo can do this all day in the NBA.  I'm kinda tired of people saying he's a beast in International ball, like he's not a beast in the NBA and "he's just a ball stopper and needs the ball to be effective."  I be wondering...do these dudes even WATCH the games when they talk this nonsense

.  Melo absolutely DOESN'T need the ball to dominate...international ball just proves this point.  Like Kobe said..."On THIS team...Melo does what he is supposed to do.  FINISH."

Players like Durant do not have to create anything for anyone.  Westbrook does his thing, and Durant gets open and cans the jumpers...and finishes plays.  I don't even see him get double teams.

Melo gets double teamed consistently, and still has to create for others without a real point guard.  This will make your percentages go down quite easily.

This season should change that if Felton/Kidd/Prigioni get the job done like I believe they will.  Can't wait

There is a HUGE difference between international play and the NBA game. Not to take away from Melo's performance, but the 3 point line is closer (how many were actually long two's?) Also, there are no real big men in the Olympics aside from a select few so playing Melo at the 4 isn't that bad. I think if Melo plays the 4 all year in the NBA he will wear down. And the talent level on Team USA is unmatched. He doesn't have to do it all like he has to with the Knicks. We don't have a dead eye shooter (besides Novack, but he is easily contained in a playoff series) and Amar'e went missing...

I forgot my point midway through this post so I'll just leave it at this:

Melo is awesome.

I need to see dem highlights.

:rollin at melo trollin with the jordan shrug

But I'm not sure if this is logical at all... But I wish that Woodson would implement something next season where he alternates the " Big Contract " players

When Melo comes in, Stat comes out and vice versa. Have the other players that know how to adapt to each player's strengths and weaknesses. Each player be the focal point of the offense whenever they are in. I honestly see difficulty of everyone knowing their role when both melo and stat are on the floor at the same time.

Felton already knows how to work with Stat.
Kidd could be the perfect guy to facilitate Melo

This way they both have a lot of rest and each player can have their time to shine.

Not sure if this is feasible though.

Hoping shump can come back bigger and better and be one of the defensive anchors
And I'm hoping stat cuts them braids.

:lol:lol:lol

That Melo shoulder shrug better be on a commercial.
